I always try to put being the best I can be in radio. I prepare for every game I do. It takes 5 days to get ready for one game. When I’m ready, I don’t look at any notes or rosters until game day. I rest for about 34 hours before. In other sports, the prepared time is shorter but I balance rest and other stuff in between games. Read more>>

There is a line from one of my favorite American poets, Robert Frost’s poems. The Road Not Taken. Two roads diverged in a wood , and I – I took the one less traveled by. And that has made all the difference. These beautiful words sum up my entire life of knowing I am different and it is okay . You don’t have to be like by every one or do as every one else. And that has made all the difference! Read more>>

I’m so excited to finally share this news with my all my friends, family, and my online supporters who have been following my journey on social media.. 3 years ago on December 19th my grandmother (Lorean Dew) made her arrival to heaven. That was a moment that changed not only my life but my mindset on a lot of things. About a year after my grandmother passed I was in my bedroom thinking of something I can do or create that will make me feel like she’s still here and I wanted to put together something that I knew she and I both bonded so well on, and that was fashion! It’s hard to pinpoint one moment when we came up with our business idea for Dowdy Studio. Now, Dowdy Studio is a small artist retail store and design studio based in East Dallas. However, the process of getting here has been more of an evolution of a side art project that flourished each time we decided to take a big scary leap. We also constantly sprinkle it with our magical childhood dreams and drench it in our endless passion for more fun and creativity. Read more>>

Everything in life is about making decisions, I think that starting from there, the most important thing will always be to decide from what really makes us feel complete and happy, that way when those moments come, because they will always come, in which we want to give up, because we are tired, there is where we remember that we are doing it because it is what we are passionate about in life, it is our driving force, and that is how we know that it is better to continue because we have already come far enough to stop now. A single most important decision I made that contributed to my success is focusing on what is the truest final decision to make myself happy. Putting yourself first after putting others first is a huge impactful decision that you forget to do while getting caught up in life. Read more>>

I think it’s been consistency. I have a lot of systems in place on the back end of my business to help keep things flowing on the front end. I write a blog every week, which can be either new content or repurposing old content. I also create seven social medias posts a week for my facebook, instagram and threads pages. When a new client contacts me for therapy or coaching, I have an initial email or text I send before setting up a phone consult. I also have a phone intake I use, so I don’t forget to ask potential clients important questions before starting our work together. I think having a structured plan in place has been very helpful! I have taken significant risks throughout my life, and each has profoundly shaped who I am today. One of the biggest risks I took was moving to Texas without a job or knowing anyone. Despite the uncertainty, I felt a burning desire to create a new life. Before this move, I had faced tremendous personal challenges, including battling cancer, going through a divorce, and experiencing the heartbreaking loss of my only child. These experiences left me feeling like I had nothing more to lose. Read more>>

It is important for us to stay true to our mission, which is to speak from the heart and provide the listening audience with something of real substance. We have to stay authentic. We have to provide great content that is different from what anyone else is doing, in order to show people that there are many different styles to choose from outside of what people are used to. The audience is eager to hear something new, something impactful, and not just something that sounds like everything that’s out already. Our success will be determined by us daring to be different. I’ve learned that noticing small things in day to day life brings so much joy and happiness. For example: taking notice of the Crepe Myrtle’s that are in bloom, putting on a fun outfit, or giving a compliment to someone. Being present with the people and things around me has brought a fullness to my life. It takes me out of my own mind and world. Which in turn, helps me focus on the world around me. Which personally, I think brings joy. Read more>>

Selling art is a very personal task. It’s difficult to acquire a following of buyers because there are so many talented artists out there. I wonder what could make me stand out and attract my audience. I would like outsiders to know that compliments and the simple act of admiration, even without a purchase is so satisfying and uplifting when it’s sincere. That alone is confirmation that I’m on the right path and gives me motivation to keep creating. It really helps to know which images are ones I can expand on. Read more>>
