We had the good fortune of connecting with Douglas Elliott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Douglas, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success has been, consistency.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets me apart from others is that I truly want artists to succeed in the music industry. What I]m most proud of is when I get to witness artists accomplishments whether it be a special performance, the success of a song, or any milestone they achieve. I got to where I am professionally by being consistent. Not easy at all. I was able to overcome the challenge/challenges simply by reprioritizing, recalibrating myself. The main lesson I learned is that you’re not entitled to success. The work must be done, the time must be put in, if you want to be successful. What I would like the world to know about me is that I genuinely want success for all artists. I want to help anyway I can achieve their success.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would say a great place to hangout is Texas Live in Arlington. It has everything, food, drink and then possibly catch a Texas Rangers baseball or Dallas Cowboys football game, both venues are incredible. An interesting place I would like to go visit is the African American Museum, so much history and located in Fair Park, especially around State Fair time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
