We had the good fortune of connecting with Daris Frencha and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve been in the voluntary benefits industry for over 10 years. We specialized in two amazing, forward-thinking benefits, which were legal protection and identity theft protection. Fast forward to 2021, after enduring so many things personally (the unexpected loss of my only sibling) and professionally (the pandemic), I re-evaluated my purpose and my business.
Words like total wellness, holistic approach, corporate culture, mental wellness, work-from-home, flex hours, etc. became a part of the employee benefit package. I realized that I wanted to do MORE to help small businesses, and The Benefit Boutique was born.
We developed a proprietary process, partnered with unique carriers that cater to small businesses with less than 50 employees, and Perk Partners to help small businesses create a truly unique employee benefits package that stands heads and shoulders against their competition.
The other thought process was helping women sales professionals earn at least $100,000 a year from home. We believe that the more companies you help be more successful, then the more money you can make. Unapologetically.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m most excited about the fact that The Benefit Boutique is positioning itself to be the largest employee benefit broker in North Texas. We have a unique approach that allows small businesses, with less than 50 employees to be able to offer up to 9 voluntary benefits plus perks so that they are more competitive at attracting and retaining top talent. And wait, it gets better….our clients determine the budget. We don’t quote. We don’t tell you how much it costs. You tell us your budget. This approach is new to the employee benefits industry, so we’re disruptors. I like disrupting.
I got here by never giving up. Always thinking bigger. Did I want to quit some days? Hell yes! But I stayed true to my purpose. I also don’t have a choice. I’m not employable. That means I can’t work for anyone else, or build someone else’s dream. So I keep moving forward.
I’ve learned to never give up. The Universe, Source, God, whatever you believe in will conspire on your behalf, as long as you don’t give up. So don’t. Remember that!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I relocated to Fort Worth from Chicago, 11 years ago, so I’m a die-hard Fort Worth fan! The Fort Worth Stockyards is a must. The nightlife is a true experience. From Country music, to the Piano Bar to the Smoke shop for those that enjoy a good cigar. I’d also take a guest to the live band bar in Roanoke, as well as my taco dive spot. I must say, the best Chicken and Waffles I’ve had are in Dallas. So yes, I’d make the trek to Dallas to Jonathan’s. Delicious!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I just completed the Goldman Sachs 10KSB program. A program designed to help small businesses scale, grow and hire a bigger team. This program has taken my vision to a new level. It has equipped me with the knowledge and a growth plan to own my business, instead of it owning me. My cohort mates are now my family! And the resources are unlimited.
I recently read the book Finding Me by Viola Davis. I’m an avid reader. Her story gives me life! The struggles and challenges that she overcame are astonishing. So whenever I think I’m having a bad day, I look to her for the strength to become all that….and some.
