Meet Vendi Parker | Faith-Driven Singer, Author, Producer & Venue Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Vendi Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Vendi, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I pursued an artistic and creative career because creativity has always been one of the ways I connect with God, process my experiences, and communicate what is on my heart.

For me, music and storytelling are more than creative outlets. They are ministry. I’ve experienced seasons of pain, surrender, growth, and restoration, and I realized that the things God brought me through could also encourage someone else. That realization changed the way I viewed my creativity.

Whether I’m singing, writing, creating content, speaking, or building something through my businesses, I want what I create to have purpose. I want people to feel inspired, seen, and reminded that their story isn’t over.

I also pursued this path because I believe creativity gives us permission to imagine what doesn’t exist yet. Some of my biggest dreams started as ideas that I couldn’t fully explain to anyone else. I’ve learned to trust those ideas, work hard, and allow God to lead me through the process.

Ultimately, I don’t just want to build a career. I want to build something meaningful. I want my art and my life to point people back to purpose, faith, confidence, and the God who gave me the ability to create in the first place.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is an expression of my faith, my testimony, and my journey of becoming. I’m a singer, songwriter, author, creative, and entrepreneur, but at the heart of everything I do is one simple desire: to use what God has given me to inspire other people to walk boldly in their purpose.

What sets me apart is that I don’t see my creativity as separate pieces. My music, books, fashion, beauty, content, and businesses are all extensions of the same story. They are different ways of communicating faith, confidence, healing, creativity, and purpose.

I’m especially proud of the fact that I’ve continued to create even when the path wasn’t easy or perfectly clear. My journey professionally has been anything but overnight. There have been seasons where I had to work a traditional job while building my creative dreams on the side. There were moments of questioning myself, starting over, learning things I had never done before, and figuring out how to turn ideas into actual businesses and opportunities.

But I learned that sometimes God gives you the vision before He gives you the roadmap.

I’ve had to learn how to be disciplined when I wasn’t motivated, how to keep showing up when things weren’t happening as quickly as I wanted, and how to trust God even when I couldn’t see the full picture. I’ve also learned that success isn’t just about talent. It requires consistency, humility, relationships, resilience, and the willingness to keep learning.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that you don’t have to wait until everything is perfect to start. You can build while you’re learning. You can create while you’re growing. You can walk in purpose while still figuring out what the next step looks like.

Today, I’m excited about this next chapter of my artistry. My music is becoming an even bigger expression of my testimony and my relationship with God. I’m also excited about continuing to build a brand that brings together music, books, fashion, beauty, entrepreneurship, and lifestyle in a way that feels authentic to who I am.

Ultimately, I want the world to know that Vendi Ashley is more than a brand. There is a real woman, a real testimony, and a real God behind it.

I’ve experienced pain, disappointment, growth, restoration, and transformation, and I refuse to waste any of it. If God can take the pieces of my story and use them to create something beautiful, I believe He can do the same with anyone else.

My message is simple: You can love God, be creative, be ambitious, build something incredible, and still remain grounded in who He called you to be.

I’m not just trying to build a career. I’m building a legacy that I pray will outlive me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to Dallas for a week, I would want them to experience the city the way I love to experience it: a little luxury, great food, beautiful views, fun experiences, and plenty of time to slow down and actually enjoy each other.

I’d start with the Dallas skyline. I would take them to Reunion Tower so they could see the city from above and really take in the beauty of Dallas. Then we’d head to Gloria’s Latin Cuisine in Rockwall for a beautiful meal overlooking Lake Ray Hubbard. Rockwall is one of my favorite places to unwind because you get that perfect combination of great food, water, and a relaxed atmosphere.

Of course, we would have to get on the water. I’d plan a boat ride on Lake Ray Hubbard, preferably around sunset. There’s something about being on the water with good music, good conversation, and beautiful scenery that just makes you feel like you’re on vacation, even when you’re right here in Texas.

I’d also dedicate a morning to fishing. I love the idea of getting up early, grabbing some coffee, getting on the water, and spending a few hours fishing and laughing.

But honestly, one of my favorite parts of the entire week would probably be the night I stay home.

I would cook my best friend their favorite meal, set the table beautifully, light some candles, put on some good music, and have an intimate dinner right at home. No crowds. No rushing. Just good food, deep conversation, laughter, and quality time.

I think that’s what makes a great trip. You don’t necessarily have to be doing something extravagant every second. Sometimes the most memorable moments are the simple ones with people you love.

So my perfect Dallas week would be a mix of city views, beautiful restaurants, lake days, fishing, boat rides, good food, and meaningful time together. I’d want my best friend to leave saying, “Girl, I had THE best time,” while also feeling like they got to experience a little piece of what makes Dallas feel like home to me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shoutout to my husband, Benjamin Parker, who truly has been the wind beneath my wings.

Benjamin has supported my dreams in ways that go far beyond encouragement. He has produced my music, photographed me, filmed my videos, created graphics for my projects, and helped bring so many of the ideas in my head to life. So much of what people see from me creatively has his fingerprints on it too.

He has been there behind the scenes, helping me turn ideas into something tangible. He has watched me dream, create, pivot, grow, and step into new levels of purpose, and he has continued to support me along the way.

I often say that I couldn’t do what I do without the people God has placed around me, and Benjamin is one of the biggest examples of that. He doesn’t just tell me to fly. He helps make sure I have the wings to do it.

So this shoutout is for my husband, my creative partner, and truly the wind beneath my wings. I’m grateful for everything he has poured into me, my music, my vision, and the dreams God has given me.
