We had the good fortune of connecting with Rossmond Chark and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rossmond, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been into arts. From what I can recall, other than doing crafts at the house, I found myself into nails and designs in middle school. My absolute favorite design to do were converse shoes! From there it went to makeup, then drawing, painting, dance and lastly modeling.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’d love to. I’m definitely proud of my determination. It doesn’t matter how many times I fall or get discouraged, I always get back up and get back to it. It’s also what has helped me get to where I am today.
When it comes to my career I like to let my discernment to lead me. I model, so I like to work with those I’ve built trust with. I also do makeup and I’ve chosen not to allow certain things for multiple reasons. When you build a business you have to do what is best for you and your brand. One day I want to and will give back to my community, starting with One on One’s, dance classes and giveaways. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for my brand!
None of it has been easy but the progress throughout the years has undeniably been worth it! I overcame challenges by respecting myself and what I stand for and being authentic.
I want the world to know that all those many thoughts of what you can be that randomly cross your mind, aren’t a coincidence. You can literally be ANYTHING you want if you put in the work and have faith in yourself. And I want to be a testimony to that the more and more I add on to my story.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first BRUNCH! If you know me, you know I’m obsessed with breakfast, anywhere there’s food and good drinks is where you can find us. I’m also big on taking photos for memories, so a few museums with photo ops can be expected. And lastly, anywhere there’s music and fun!! Whether that be an arcade, bar, or a game night at the house/hotel.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When it comes to makeup, my mentor Sharnique Johnson definitely deserves a shout out. I’ve been self taught until she asked to mentor me late February of this year. I knew what I was doing for the most part but she corrected me on some thing things and guided me, showing me new tips and tricks I can use forever.
