We had the good fortune of connecting with Madison Abboud and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Madison, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
My daughter is only 18 months old, but I believe in my heart that the best thing I have done for her as a parent so far is provide her with the best nutrition possible. It has not always been easy but it has always been a top priority in our family to invest in our health now so that we can reap the benefits today as well as much later in life. Our girl will grow up eating whole, nutritious foods and we will continue to do everything in our power to make sure she has a healthy relationship with food.
What should our readers know about your business?
I co-own a gym in Downtown Dallas with my husband, Sharif. I am most proud of the fitness community that our team has built over the last several years — EVOLVE truly is more than a gym. People come because they want to take care of their physical-selves, but they end up improving from the inside out. Our community is passionate about helping others (outside of the gym), maintaining relationships, and encouraging one another to do and be a little bit better. The road to owning our own gym was anything but easy and it took a lot of years of experience, patience, and hard work to get here. We have absolutely no complaints about the journey — we firmly believe that without every twist and turn, we wouldn’t be who and where we are today.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am going to sound a little boring here, but since I know my way around the kitchen — I think my BFF would prefer to eat a home cooked meal by yours truly, ha! I will say, I definitely see the value in dining out when it’s something that I know I can’t prepare as well as a restaurant can. That being said, we would LOVE anywhere with good pizza or sushi! I have the most fun and am most in tune with myself being outdoors. So, anything on the water or in nature would be our go-to activity. We also love love LOVE a good farmer’s market. Definitely could see a petting zoo happening for our kiddos (and let’s be honest, for us too)!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband, Sharif. He is the leader of our family in every sense of the word. He is constantly putting our needs (and the needs of others) before his own, sometimes to a fault! He encourages and empowers me to do the things I don’t think I’m strong enough to do. Plain and simple, he is so good and I am a better person for knowing him.
