We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelvona Lincoln and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kelvona, how do you think about risk?
Taking risk has helped me out tremendously. Teaching classes was a really big risk because I am an introvert. It helped me to expand my business and to connect with people outside of my comfort zone.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
With my Cake Art I have developed my own style. When a customer sends me visual inspiration. I keep it in the theme but I always add my own artistic flair. I got to where I am by constantly working to improve myself. I always feel like when I work on something it has to be better than what I did the day before. Being a Cake Artist may look easy to some but trust me it’s not. I have had nights when there was no sleep at all. Those kind of nights is when I would really want to give up, but when I achieve the final results. That is what reminds me of why I love doing what I do.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One thing that me and my close friends love to do is eat and relax. Lol Some of our favorite restaurants are Pappadeaux and Olive Garden. Hibachi is always an exciting place to eat. We love wine so Lost Oak Winery would definitely be on the itinerary. We can’t leave out our children because we love to have fun with them also. We enjoy ourselves at places like Main Event, Six Flags and Indoor Water Parks.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Family and Friends have played a big part in my journey. I appreciate everyone that is close to me because they give me the support that I need. I really appreciate my followers also. People that I have never met encourage me to continue my craft and elevates me to continue to grow.
