We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Erica, how does your business help the community or world?
Our business is one of a kind in my opinion. Everyday we are giving men, women and kids their confidence back. Loosing your hair is not easy. It can impact your whole life. People can loose their hair for different reasons. It can be from something simply like changing your diet to the after effects of taking medications. We give our clients hope.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am excited that I get to meet different people everyday and hear their stories. I have always wanted to be a hairstylist ever since I was a little girl. My one of grandfather’s was a barber and one of my grandmother’s was a hairstylist so this industry is in my veins. This journey I have taken was not easy. There were several bumps in the road. I started by working at the salon in JCPenney. Then I ventured into working for myself, which was even harder. I love a good challenge and working for myself was fun, exciting but stressful. I am not the one to quit, I try to give 100% in everything I do. Honestly what got me through all the difficult times was prayer. Asking for guidance and direction. Which is what lead me to Bravadas. I have learned that success does happen or night. To take risk and trust your decisions. Its ok to accept help from those who have made it through. I want the world to know that I have over came many things and I wont stop. All the risk I have taken have been worth it. I will continue to grow, learn and be prosperous.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend coming to town I would take her to eat breakfast at the Biscuit Bar in uptown. Then we would go to the Botanical Gardens . After that have lunch at Mi Cocina. That night we can go to a Jazz place and enjoy the evening. Next day we would go to Six Flags or Hurricane Habor and just spend the day having fun.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
