We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Lisa Cooney and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Lisa, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Make Today Magic! For me, this means that each day is an infinite possibility of choice. No matter the tragedy, trauma, current conflicts or problems I may be facing or the state of the world, each day is still a choice in the moment of what I would like to create and have as my reality? This breeds hope, aliveness and energy fueling me forward to creating the life I know is possible.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For 26 years, I have been coaching those that feel trapped in chronic unhappiness with their business, relationship, health or financial situation, so that they can experience a generative transformation in their lives. I specifically created a technique called the ROAR(add registered mark) technique that eliminates the effects of trauma and have just began instructing practitioners how to deliver the modality as practitioners and soon to be instructors. I am very proud of this as I was the person who tried everything in the mental health field I was drawn too and they all helped but what came through me that’s known as ROAR(registered mark) today changed everything for me. And, I healed PTSD in a way I was told was impossible. For me, nothing is impossible unless I believe so. I overcame the first 23 years of my life mired in abuse. It wasn’t easy but I knew the being I am could never be broken so I chose to become an inspiration and turn my tragedy into showing others how to live radically alive beyond abuse. I call this Post Traumatic Growth and I eliminated symptoms and patterns of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. My work and my business is a labor of love. I stepped in front of a bus ready to check out of this reality due to past abuse and something pulled me back to the sidewalk and no one was there. It was in that moment that I dedicated my life to living radically alive. And end the cycle of violence with myself and show others how to do so as well. Gaslighting of yourself is as terrible as from another. If i can do it so can you! I’m living proof!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start by staying at the Warwick Regis Dallas Hotel in Oak Lawn and for vegetarian food we would visit the Cosmic Cafe and for dessert Chocolate Secrets. A swanky dinner at Al Biernet’s is a must without a doubt. A daily stop at Drip Cafe in Oak Lawn or Lover’s Lane, the manager Steve is amazing and staff are so friendly. We would definitely enjoy the Dallas Museum of Art and walk around the Art District and spend the eve in Deep Ellum at Serious Pizza or the Lockhart Smokehouse BBQ. The Dallas Arboretum and Emporium Pies is a fun adventure. Shopping at Legacy in Plano for fun and Mal Malouff for luxury and professional clothing. Adore Mal!! Flower Child and a movie is another fun experience and must do.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Access Consciousness www.accessconsciousness.com Gary Douglas and Dr. Dain Heer Close to 9 years ago, my father passed and I found myself extremely lost and not doing so well. I started my first Access Consciousness classes a month after he passed and have continued. The founders, Gary Douglas and Dr. Dain Heer, presented to me a possibility for living and business and creating my life in a way I thought I could never do or be. Through these classes and the facilitator I still am of their material, I have contributed globally, internationally and domestically, live and online, through written and spoken medium and continue to make a difference with people I never would have met. Also, I may never have realized or healed the depths I have without their guidance, contribution and recommendations. I highly recommend starting with Access The Bars and see what that opens in your world. It has worked well for me.
