We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexiyah Janaé and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexiyah, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand that I’m building is to continue to be authentic and purpose driven. Anything I do has to have purpose as well as substance. I want my brand to represent the best version of myself as I share pieces of my story through photography. I strive to stay ahead of the curve and to incorporate the ever evolving beauty and fashion world while standing firm my authenticity.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a freelance lifestyle model and content creator. I’ve been modeling off and on for a few years but decided to take my crafts more serious once I moved to Houston Texas and seen all of the opportunities this huge city has to offer I got bold sense of confidence. What sets me aside from others is my ability to push the boundaries that were set by society and that a lot of women have conformed to. I don’t allow the “no’s” to define or determine the success of my brand or future.

I want to inspire the uninspired or simply show others coming after me that wants to do it on their own that they can.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming for week we’d go get medi/pedis, go eat brunch, wine tasting, a nice little picnic in the park. We’d go skating, maybe bowling too. We’d have a annual movie night in with pj’s, junk food and booze. We would window shop at all the super fancy furniture and decor stores. Probably get a piercing or tattoo purely off of impulse.

To me the most fun and exciting places you can go and meet the most interesting people are the small bars, family own restaurants in those small towns where every one knows everyone. I think it’s so cool and it gives off such genuine and safe energy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout my sister, Chyquayla for always pushing and encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone! I would also like to thank Don of ‘’Arts of Visuals’ , my mentor and home photographer for showing me the ways of this industry and also pushing my limits in photography.
