Hi Shaq, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
QueynMe Candles wasn’t born because I simply wanted to sell candles. It started because I wanted to create an experience—something that could shift a person’s mood the moment they walked into a room.

I’ve always believed scent has power. A single fragrance can bring back a memory, create peace after a long day, boost confidence before a big moment, or make a house truly feel like home. I wanted to bottle those feelings into something people could light whenever they needed them.

As I learned more about candles, I realized so many people were dealing with headaches from heavily fragranced products and lower-quality waxes. That pushed me to choose coconut soy wax and high-quality fragrance oils, creating products that are cleaner, luxurious, and enjoyable for people who normally struggle with strong scents. I wanted luxury to feel good—not overwhelming.

The name “QueynMe” is intentional. It’s a reminder that everyone deserves to treat themselves like royalty. Life gets busy, stressful, and demanding. We spend so much time pouring into everyone else that we forget to pour into ourselves. QueynMe is permission to slow down, romanticize your everyday life, and choose yourself without guilt.

Every scent has its own personality because people do too. Some days you’re soft and peaceful. Some days you’re bold and unapologetic. Some days you’re playful, flirty, nostalgic, or adventurous. I wanted a collection that lets people choose a fragrance that matches how they feel—or how they want to feel.

As the business has grown, so has the vision. What began with candles has become a full fragrance experience through wax melts, room and linen sprays, rollerball parfums, and parfum sprays. The goal has always been bigger than one product. I want QueynMe to become a lifestyle brand that people think of whenever they want to elevate an ordinary moment.

At the heart of it all, QueynMe is built on joy, confidence, comfort, and connection. It’s about creating products that make people smile, spark conversations, fill homes with beautiful fragrances, and remind every customer that they deserve a little luxury in their everyday life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hard work and perseverance got me to where I am today. A strong will to continually push myself forward and not look at obstacles as a reason to stop. This is my passion my baby!! I pour my whole soul and spirit into every product and my customers can tell I do this in return! I’ve always been obsessed with candles—like, burn-one-in-every-room type obsessed.
And one night it hit me: why not make my own?
Now I’m hand-pouring bold, bougie, vibe-heavy candles.

Each scent is a whole mood—and yes, My Typa Man smells like trouble (in the best way 😏).

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start at my favorite restaurant Campuzanos in oak lawn for some amazing food and drinks. Probably hit up the Fort Worth botanical gardens and then hang out with friends and chill the rest of the time. I’m a major homebody so going out does not excite me. Staying in watching a good movie/show and having some much needed bonding time!
