Thinking through the whether to start something new

Starting a business can be terrifying. Weighing the pros and cons, the risks, and other considerations can be so overwhelming that often promising entrepreneurs stop before they even start. We asked some phenomenal entrepreneurs about their thought process behind starting their own businesses. Our hope is that by making the thought-process less intimidating we can help more folks think through whether they should take an entrepreneurial leap.
When I started my own business I was nervous and afraid of failure. The entire thought of being your own boss is amazing. I was ready to do that & I was also tired of working for others. It’s upsetting when you’re giving your all to a company and they’re not pouring back into you. It was taking over my mental health, slipping me back into depression & triggering my anxiety. I began my career in the restaurant industry in my teens as a server. While pursuing a Bachelor’s in Marketing I continued to work in restaurants serving, bartending and even back in the kitchen. I always knew I had a passion for people, for food and that I liked being of service to people. I found myself at a crossroad because I was working in video production at a corporate job but I also had a ton of freelance work starting to pile up. I had envisioned starting my own video production company for a long time, but didn’t quite have the client base I needed.
