We had the good fortune of connecting with Yajaira Adamo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Yajaira, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Hi Everyone! My name is Yajaira Adamo but you can call me YaYa! I am a proud military brat/spouse who has given the opportunity to experience cultures, and meet amazing people in my life. The heart of my business as a wedding & engagement photographer in Dallas is rooted in the passing of my grandfather. For me, memories are a big deal. In my family I’ve always been the one to take photos. The last photo I took of my grandfather is in my phone. I think about how many people don’t have this opportunity to have their photos captured in some of the most treasured moments with some of the most important people. Through this experience I realized the value of a single moment, and single photography. This is where I draw my inspiration and passion for capturing special moments for each couple and it is through this that fuels me to capture the people body, authentically and create this space to do so. I desire to empower other families to have these family heirlooms to treasure and memorialize for years to come. I want each couple to trust and feel that these special moments will be captured.
What should our readers know about your business?
I offer Bold, Artistic & Authentic wedding photography. I am a Texas Luxury Lifestyle Wedding Photographer, based out of Dallas. I’m passionate about getting to know my clients and creating an atmosphere that makes couples feel comfortable and valued throughout the entire wedding process, while including a little flare to spice up your photographs. This process helps me co-create your vision and allows you to EXPERIENCE your own wedding day with joy.
Connection, presence, and an experience that is mapped out to your specific needs, these are values that I know if you’re reading this, you and I share.
This is your story and I feel it is important for you to experience it rather than being an observer. If you are someone who wants a photographer who will guide you through flattering poses, capture every important moment as well as provide a smooth and detailed timeline, then I’m your girl!
Throughout your journey and experience with my team, it is where we get to know each other, understand your vision, talk about how to pose, and prepare you to feel natural, present, and captured in the most stunning manner possible.
Are you ready to connect, create, and have some fun? If this sounds like you, let chat whether it is in person or online! Let’s connect!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to visit me here in the big state of Texas, I would start the day taking her to the Adriatica Village in McKinney TX. This location is absolutely stunning with a very European inspired flare to the architecture of the buildings. It brings back so many memories of when I lived in la Maddalena, Italy when I was a young girl. As we walk the cobble streets of the Adriatica Village I proceed to share with her the coolest spots to take photos and share a story that is very near and dear to me. I share with her how I captured my sister and brother-in-laws engagement session they never had. They both eloped in the Navy and never got to experience an engagement session or a wedding. So, as they celebrate 20 years together I had the honor of capturing twenty years of true love and and being able to capture their intimate moments artistically in this beautiful place. We end the evening sitting at the patio of a restaurant near the lake and taking in the sunset view while drinking a glass of wine to celebrate our time spent and making new memories together.
Deep Ellum is another amazing location I would take my bestie. She is very much artistic and a music lover like myself that she would absolutely love this place. Colors so vibrant with all the murals on so many buildings, you can not not take cools pics. I love this place so much cause every time I attend, there is always something so creative and inspiring to see. We would jump from one cool pub to another taking in the decor and atmosphere each one brings and hang with the locals. We would end the evening with dinner and comedy show in Deep Ellum.
DFW Surf in Little Elm is a very nice getaway to go paddle boarding. This is where a group of my girlfriends and I go every Sunday morning to paddle board for hours and dock ourselves in the middle of the lake or go to our secret beach area we found exploring the area. We then chat about what’s going on in our lives. We paddle board back to enjoy a margarita at the Margarita Hut across the lake.
The Stockyard in Fort Worth is a must. It is a really cool place where it transport you back to the wild wild west. Being from the east coast you don’t see much of a place like this. It is amazing to watch the herd of bulls come out on the streets and shop at the coolest boutique stores. Riding the train from the stock yard back to Grapevine area is a wonderful ending to the day. Grapevine downtown is so quaint to walk around and we would finish the evening attending a wine tour in Grapevine.
Her final destination to her trip visiting me would be Downtown Dallas. Loving the rich history of this city we would walk to all the museums Dallas has to offer; the Sixth Floor Museum, Perot Museum and Science, Dallas Museum of Art, etc. We would eat the best barbecue Texas has to offer.
A week is definitely not enough time to see so many other locations Texas has to offer. It is never a dull moment here and when she visits again I can take her to other locations we didn’t get a chance to experience together.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my success to the following mentors, family and friends. To my loving husband who always supported me with my crazy ideas in this creative mind of mine. Not only has he supported me through my business career he had faith in me throughout this process that he too has joined my team. We both share the same values and love that our business has allowed us to make forever friends while capturing their amazing journey leading to their wedding day. To my mentor, Samantha Farris, who took me under her wing. It all started with just talk about our passions and interests of capturing peoples lives at Starbucks to allowing me to follow her on every session she had that year, and with trust and a strong relationship it led me to become her second shooter. She is my ride or die girl! I am forever grateful to her. She inspired me and had faith in me to be successful in this industry. To the Wedding Lead Machine Accelerator group, WLMA, more specifically Jordan & Crystal Correces as well as Aiden Meadows, thank you for continuing to share your knowledge, your continuance of support on not only to my business but to many other photographers in this community. You have shown compassion and understanding of the ups and downs of owning a business, true friendship has been built through this community, and providing your marketing expertise on how to run our business. Christora Osters – Green Apples Photography, Tom Russo – Tom Russo Photography, Kyle Conder – Conder Media, you three are the pillars that keep pushing me to go that extra mile on creating class, elegance, and passion in my couples portraits while capturing the emotions and expressions captured through my photography. Marvin Blue, you are truly my brother from another mother. Your fun, hilarious energetic personality makes hanging out at weddings super fun. Your willingness to share your knowledge and allow me to be your second shooter is beyond an amazing experience and I am honor to continue to work with you. Thank you to all for your continued support, faith in me, and most importantly our long lasting friendship.
