We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Price Cohens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracy, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I am a native of Charlotte, North Carolina. My upbringing definitely impacted the woman who I am today. I am truly blessed to have the upbringing I had which was filled with lessons, learning and love. I grew up in a middle-class neighbor called Hidden Valley. Everyone knew one another and where everyone lived, we took care of each other. It was a very different time and I feel that it was a great neighborhood. I was allowed to be a child and grow into the person I am today because of all the people that I grew up with. And as today, we still have a connected community.

My parents were two of the most influential people in my life. They gave me the best foundation in order for me to walk through life with my head held high, but with my feet always on the ground. My parents were wonderful role models who instilled self-dignity, servanthood, humility, integrity, respect for others, express gratitude, have a good character, work hard and show Godly love. Because of my parents’ dedication, love and Christian examples, I continue to be a Godly role model-mentor to my family and friends.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am currently working in the Banking/Financial Institution as a Lead Fraud and Claims Analyst. I believe what sets me apart from others is having integrity, being genuine, having a strong work ethic, being optimistic, motivating people, showing empathy, authenticity, and being an excellent communicator. I am a very good communicator and I find it very easy for me to relate to other people. And I am proud of the impact I’ve had during the years. I have collaborated with diverse teams to organize impactful projects that benefited the local community, in which I have witnessed countless moments where I helped create a positive working environment in the workplace and in the community.

I am excited that this past March, I celebrated being with the company for twenty-five years and I am proud of my personal growth and leadership skills I have gained from working with the company for so many years. I embrace every opportunity to challenge myself and grow as an individual. I feel that we should be consistent in learning new things to gain knowledge and experience. Learning is a lifelong commitment to personal growth “If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you.

“If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.” I got to where I am today professionally by being determined, hardworking, adapting and adjusting, and being an overall genuine person. I treat others how I wish they would treat me. I have learned from others that I have met, and I have shared with others what I have learned. And for this, I must say it has made it a lot easier over the years.

In my professional career, I have learned that you have to have to be flexible, have the ability to adapt quickly to new situations, embrace change and always be eager to learn new skills. You also need to see things from another person’s perspective. Considering alternative viewpoints and experiences will allow you to become more understanding and tolerant. When you know where the other person is coming from, that knowledge is power.

I would like people to know that I have a friendly personality and enjoy interacting with others. I am genuine, and people can see that I am authentic. I am loyal to my family and my friends, and I always stand up for what I believe in. I have a positive outlook on life and always see the best in people and situations. I am an author, experienced Pastoral Care leader, mentor, passionate worshiper and altar worker. I have dedicated my life to supporting individuals in recovering from life’s toughest seasons. I am a devoted wife, proud mother, and grandmother. I wrote my first book The Faith to Forgive, and I am currently working on my second book. This book will enlighten, challenge, and inspire you to use your faith in God to be a more forgiving person. Very few of us make the connection with faith and forgiveness, but faith is directly connected to every facet of our lives. After all, “the just shall live by faith”. This book will unlock the power that awaits and will passionately guide you through faith, both growing it and defending it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As previous stated, I am a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, which is known as the Queen City. Charlotte is home to North Carolina’s largest city. It has seemed to become a popular destination for travelers and home for residents. It has become the 3rd fastest-growing major city in the US. With its unique blend of southern charm and contemporary urbanism. Charlotte has Southern hospitality; with all the amenities you’d expect in a large metropolis, and it has a very diverse international scene. It is a vibrant and dynamic city with a rich history and a thriving modern culture. Charlotte’s vibrant options range from upscale established to local, family-owned eateries.

Charlotte has so much in the way of sporting events as. From Charlotte Hornets basketball games at the Spectrum Center to Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Motor Speedway, which hosts thrilling Nascar events, Charlotte Knights and the new FC Soccer team. It is the perfect city for those who love to play outdoors. You can spend a day for the entire season at Carowinds Amusement Park and for the more adventurous, the Us National Whitewater Center, a 400-acre facility that features whitewater rafting and water activities of all kinds. There are several popular parks for outdoor relaxation, outdoor activities and community events. It is a dynamic and growing city that offers a wide variety of amenities and activities. There is something for everyone in Charlotte.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family is the most important people in my life, and they are my biggest supporters and they spoiled me rotten. They are always encouraging and supporting me each and every time I make new goals. They have taught me to never give up when I feel that I may not succeed. They have taught me to hold onto my dreams, to never let them go, and to do what it takes to make those dreams come true. I feel so grateful for such a loving family. I would like to thank them for loving me, caring for me with no limits, empowering me to do my best and for believing in me. I will forever be thankful for everything they have done for me and continue to do for me. I love them to life!
