We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Todd and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve always wanted to pursue a career that combined all my interests. In college I was really wanting some sort of creative outlet. So, I thought for a while on what that could be. I love the western industry, horses, western fashion, and coming up with creative ideas, so wanting to start a boutique was a no brainer! I didn’t fully take the leap into being a business owner till this year after I left an office job. I took a leap of faith, quit my job, and I’ve never looked back!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My idea for my business started in a college door room, and to see it grow and prosper makes me so happy! My boutique is an online western store that celebrates the western lifestyle in all walks of life. Whether you’re an avid country concert goer, rockstar in the rodeo or horse show arena, or mom chasing her kiddos around the ranch, Diamond T Ranchwear is a boutique that celebrates all things western.

I’m proud that my business celebrates Western Women, and that eventually it will have items for men and kids. I’m excited to be working on some original designs that will go out soon!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Fort Worth is one of my favorite places! If my best friends were coming to visit we would definitely go to the Will Rogers Coliseum and watch a horse show or rodeo. My favorite places to eat are Rodeo Goat, Cooper’s BBQ, Mashed, and anything with tacos!! If we’re going out on the town we’re definitely going to the Stockyards! Cadillac’s, Thirsty Armadillo, White Elephant, and Billy Bob’s in that order and we’re most likely dancing!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I really have to take a second to shoutout my family on this one! They’re always super supportive of my crazy ideas! Without their support, I would have never taken that leap to be a business owner. In my family we have a “full send” or “all or nothing” type attitude in about everything we do. So I’m very thankful for that mindset my parents instilled in me when I was little.
