We had the good fortune of connecting with StateGang Vince and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi StateGang, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
Two of my most difficult decision, I ever had to make will be. Making funeral decisions for my dad when he passed. As well as, leaving the streets, and focusing on my music, full time.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
One thing I’m most proud of, is being from Lawton,Ok, and making my way through the Oklahoma City, music scene without a Co-sign. My trail happened organically. Because Not actually being from OKC, gave me the opportunity to be more professional, and business first. Out the gate. As well as, bring a new style to the game. I’ve never owed anybody anything. Never asked for anything. Grinding and staying down and never getting discouraged is how I overcame these challenges. When it’s all sad and done, the world gonna know, that I was “HIM” and I mean that. When you heard me say it on stage.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’re most definitely going to Ice Event Center, where they have some of the best Catfish in the state. Then we gonna spin over to holla at my man. Don Flacko over at THOG clothing to get the fits right for the week. Next we speeding to Season clothing to holla at Chop. For the famous exotic Pops. And pick up a few things from there. The vibe is always excellent. I love that spot. If we smoking we smoking the best. So we touching Trees Canibus shout to JPoe and DJ Wayne, they keep some of the finest . Wednesday we at Hubbly Bubbly for open mic. Thursday we at Ice. Friday Symphoni downtown. Saturday Saints, shout out to Dj Keilo. And Sunday we gonna day party at, sunset patio. Keeping up with me. Can be problem.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My lovely wife. My Mother. The whole StateGang crew. And The streets of Lawton,Ok.
