We had the good fortune of connecting with Sproutz Music and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sproutz, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
To be completely honest, I started this career because it’s all I’ve ever been good at. I enjoy making music and I very much enjoy helping people bring their own musical ideas to life
.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
“Sproutz” didn’t really become a thing until around 2012 but the journey there started back in 2006 when I first started playing in bands. I started recording my own bands because we didn’t have the money for studio time and I quickly became obsessed with the process. It was a very challenging journey for sure. Lots of ups and downs over the years but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I got to travel around the U.S. playing shows with some of my best friends. Once I switched to focusing just on being a producer/engineer and was able to finally quit my job at Starbucks I was able to spend my days making music and meeting new artists.
If I had to pick one thing that separates me from others I would say it’s my ability to bring any idea no matter how big or small to life. I will always strive to make the ideas in my clients head come out exactly how they had imagined.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love anything to do with music or food. So I would love to take them to some cool spots for drinks and food around deep ellum and maybe catch some live music at Tree’s or Southside while we’re out.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people that have truly been there since the beginning and helped me along the way. But the single person that comes to mind is my wife Olyvia. She has been my biggest supporter and has literally stopped me from giving up so many times. Otherwise I gotta shoutout all my day on clients (they know who they are lol) and my business partner/friend Luis who runs the studio I work at and has his own brand/record label called “Fostepco”. He has been a huge part of my success over the last year and a half.
