We had the good fortune of connecting with Shantell Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shantell, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m originally from Detroit Michigan, my family move to Alabama when I was a young girl. I was a “tomboy” growing up and loved being in team sports, I feel like being involved in team sports, along with joining the military after high school had a profound impact who I am today, of course with my family support system as well.
What should our readers know about your business?
I’m the owner and founder of Inpack Zone, but my clients and followers know the mini trampoline group fitness classes as TrampoleanSlim, The class is a combination of up tempo music and choreography while utilizing a rebounder (mini trampoline). I wanted to create a different style of trampolining that incorporated dancing.
It has been and hasn’t been an easy road to creating this style, it hasn’t been easy because people automatically think “Big Back Yard Trampoline” or the old aerobic style of rebounding. It was easy for me to create this style of working out because it was working for me after dealing with my injuries from my time in service. It gave me the ability to work out again without injuring myself more, so with that I wanted to share this with others.
In the process of getting my business going there were quite a few sacrifices, I remember working in corporate whelm and putting some of my checks away into my business account just to be able to purchase my trampolines, I was paying other gyms and studios to use their space with no guarantee that I would have a good turn out to be able to cover me. The pandemic happened and I was barely hanging on, but I didn’t give up.
From all this I learned why I went through the struggles I went through in my past and how my time in the service made me stronger, it helped to get me to this point and go even further.
What I want people to know about my story and brand is that the experience that my clients have is an experience like no other, they learn to be stronger mentally, physically and emotionally because my brand is a representation of that, my personal story is a representation of that. We are creating a better version of ourselves together in support.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh my goodness I think I suck at showing friends and even family around the city, but I’ll go with during the week take them to some of the shops like Allen Outlet and The Galleria, stopping a few restaurants like Twigs in Grandscape or Legacy West or even to the Dallas Cowboys practice field area. Maybe even try zip lining out in Fort Worth during the weekend.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate to my family and friends who never allowed me to give up on myself and my dreams. Jones family, Godboldo family and Regency & Greg Johnson
