We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanna Boger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanna, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success and my brand is my faith in God. I have been on this entrepreneurial journey since 2011. I started with the notion that I could do this alone and i need nobody’s help. I quickly realized that was not the case. I searched for months looking for the right people to work with, businesses to collaborate with and other business owners to talk with and I still felt like something was missing. So in 2015, I decide to pray and meditate over my business and life every morning before I started my day. I was looking for answers and direction. When I stop and became still and focus, God revealed the answers and directions I was looking for in my life and business. I didn’t follow his lead at first (long story LOL), but I came back to the same place I started and put into practice what God was revealing to me. Today I’m operating on the foundation that God built and my business and life is better for it.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a certified wedding planner and floral designer. My signature is luxurious, elegant, and sophisticated, with an emphasis on cohesive details. My mission is to showcase our client’s love story in every aspect of their wedding. My passion is to create beauty in every space I enter. What sets me apart from other wedding planner and designer, my belief in the institution of marriage and my client’s experience. I belief that my clients are doing more than just planning a wedding, they are planning to become one. It is exciting to plan a beautiful wedding and reception, but I want my clients to be excited about starting their lives together and becoming one. So I take the time to learn what is most important to my clients, what are their values and most importantly to really listen to them, no matter what the subject maybe. Because when I got married, I was a big ball of emotions and it would have been so nice to have someone to talk to that was totally non bias and just listened. What I have learned from clients is that sometime they just need someone to just listen. I want the world to know that PRP Luxury Group is a brand that put their clients and their interest first. We are your concierge and we are there with you every step off the way while planning, but most of all we are listening and we will go beyond your expectation of a wedding and design company.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie came to town, here is our itinerary: * We would get drinks at Corks Wine Bar on McKinney Ave * We will have dinner at my favorite restaurants: –Imoto in Victory Park, Mi Concia in uptown (I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD!), Aunt Irene’s Kitchen in South Dallas (I’m originally form Louisiana and seafood is a must for me and my bestie), Gloria’s in Bishop Arts District. On the last day, we would have a spa day at the Joule in downtown Dallas, facials and make up done at Phancy Skin by Janetria in Plano, hair done by Daphne Venters the Tressgoddess. Then a a photo shoot with DLacy Photography and a small video with Keith Creative. Next we would stop by my friends art gallery in Carrollton, Msanni Hous. We would end the day with dinner at Nick and Sam’s on Maple’s Ave.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I would like to thank my husband, Erick Boger, for his help, support and advise. He has been my behind the scenes support since I start this journey. Next, I would like to thank my business coach, Kae Whitaker of Kae Whitaker Media Solutions. When I was at a lost in my business, I hired Kae to help me establish and elevate my business. She has given me sound procedures, policies and system to help my business thrive. Lastly, I’m a seeker of knowledge and have read many books related to business. But Marshawn Daniels book, Believe Bigger, help me in some rough and dark times on this journey.
