We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel McCants and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rachel, how do you think about risk?
I think about risk as faith. I have to trust God in every step I take especially in His business. I believe taking risks help R. Lindsay Unlimited (RLU) move forward. I believe all steps forward are great and an opportunity to learn. Regarding my risk as faith, I believe God is leading me where He’d have me to go and there are different steps I take as He guides me. Taking risks has helped me grow as a person and move forward with R. Lindsay Unlimited.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The purpose of R.Lindsay Unlimited (RLU) is to further our Lord’s Kingdom on Earth. The mission is to inspire and encourage ladies to raise their self-worth and their standards, not settle and walk in God’s will. What sets RLU apart is God and the diversity of encouragement through books, talks, plays and memberships. I am most proud of God’s faithfulness in blessing me to publish a book. I am most excited about the new membership called Early Mornings With A Dose Of Jesus (EMDJ). EMDJ is a transformational program geared to wake participants up early each day so more can be accomplished, all while starting the day with Christ. I got where I am today through Christ alone, but also the steps forward I was and am willing to take. No, it was not easy. I overcame challenges through praying and consistency. I have learned to keep going with my eyes on Jesus and to take every mistake or failure as a learning opportunity. It’s all about your mindset. I want the world to know that RLU is here to support and encourage ladies through Christ. The idea for RLU came during my brain tumor season 4 years ago. God had to physically break me to help me get on the right track.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am very much a homebody who loves movies, so I suggest going to the movies, walk around downtown and see the 6th Floor Meusuem. I also suggest visting and walking around White Rock Lake to get some exercise and walk/run while being safely distanced from people during COVID times. I suggest all the Texas Food you can get because you have to try it at least once. Such as, Whataburger, Waffle House and Bubba’s.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My number 1 shoutout goes to God, without Him I would have nothing. Also, my family, friends and business coaches who are supporting me along the way.
