We had the good fortune of connecting with Osungu Szpernalowski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Osungu, what principle do you value most?
I have so many life principles that matter to me but Self love is one of the most important. It is very important to accept your flaws and get to deeply know yourself. I find that with social media, it is so easy to envy others, whether it is their physical attributes, job or lifestyle . We are so often unfair to ourselves. When you accept and love yourself wholeheartedly, you can achieve anything. I had to learn that these past couple of years.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Running a company involves a lot of hard work and what seems like endless number of hours spent doing paperwork. There’s never a pause button, not even during the weekends but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I split my time between company work and creating content for my social media channels. It’s been especially challenging this year due to COVID 19, because my already hectic schedule now involves homeschooling my daughter.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I have come across so many talented and hardworking ladies who have inspired me. Annie Kong is one of my best friends who is also an entrepreneur and a loving mom to her sons. She is a phenomenal makeup artist and runs a small food business called Annie’s café house heartfelt. Her instagram handle is Www.instagram.com/anniekaylie
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My biggest supporters are my siblings. They attended every single play & fashion show that I took part in. Being from an African family, having a career in the entertainment industry is usually frowned upon, so having them cheering me on gave me the strength to never give up on my dreams. Also having my daughter look at me with so much pride in her eyes inspires me to want to achieve more and work harder.
