We had the good fortune of connecting with Nina Mua and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Chakra Hours started from a very simple idea: people are carrying a lot more stress than we usually see on the outside.

For years, I’ve been drawn to practices like yoga, meditation, breathwork, and sound healing because I’ve experienced how powerful they can be, not only for relaxation, but for helping people feel more grounded, clear, and connected to themselves again.

At the same time, I kept noticing how many people spend most of their day in work mode, rushing from one thing to the next, sitting at a desk, answering messages, managing pressure, and rarely having a real moment to reset. A lot of people want wellness in their life, but they don’t always have the time or energy to seek it out after work.

That’s really where Chakra Hours came from. I wanted to bring these experiences directly into the workplace in a way that feels accessible, calming, and easy for teams to participate in. It can be a guided meditation, gentle movement, breathwork, sound bath, or a full wellness reset lounge, but the heart of it is always the same: helping people pause, breathe, and feel better in their body and mind.

For me, it’s not just about offering a class. It’s about creating a moment in the middle of a busy day where people can feel taken care of.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Chakra Hours is a corporate wellness company that brings calming, restorative wellness experiences directly into workplaces, conferences, and company events. We offer guided meditation, gentle yoga, breathwork, sound healing, and wellness reset lounges designed to help teams pause, relax, and reconnect during the workday.

What sets us apart is that we are not trying to force wellness into a rigid format. We understand that every company, team, and event is different. Some groups need a peaceful sound bath where employees can fully relax. Others need a short chair yoga break between meetings. Some conferences need a wellness reset lounge where attendees can drop in for a few minutes, breathe, enjoy tea, listen to calming sounds, and return to the day feeling refreshed.

Our goal is to make wellness feel approachable, professional, and easy to experience, even for people who have never done yoga or meditation before. We keep our sessions grounded, inclusive, and comfortable. No pressure, no complicated movements, no judgment. Just a real moment to slow down and feel better.

I am especially proud of the way people respond after a session. Sometimes they walk in carrying stress from the day, and after 30 or 45 minutes, you can see their faces soften, their breathing change, and their energy shift. Many people say things like, “I didn’t realize how much I needed that.” Those moments remind me why this work matters.

Getting here has been a process of listening, learning, and building one experience at a time. Corporate wellness is growing, but we wanted Chakra Hours to feel different, more human, more sensory, and more memorable than a typical wellness class. We combine practices like sound healing, guided relaxation, gentle movement, and mindful breathing in a way that feels both calming and elevated.

It was not easy in the beginning because many companies understand wellness as a benefit, but they do not always know what kind of experience will truly engage their team. So part of our work has been educating clients and showing them that wellness can be more than a lunch-and-learn or a fitness class. It can be an experience people actually look forward to.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that people need simple, meaningful ways to reset. They do not always need something complicated. Sometimes they just need a quiet room, a gentle voice, beautiful sound, a few deep breaths, and permission to pause.

What I want people to know about Chakra Hours is that we are here to help companies create healthier, calmer, and more connected workplaces, one session at a time.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the Dallas-Fort Worth area for a week, I would want to show them both sides of the city, the fun, social side and the peaceful, grounding side.

We would start with a relaxing walk through the Dallas Arboretum or the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. I love places where you can slow down, be surrounded by beauty, and have a real conversation. Then I would take them to Bishop Arts District for local shops, restaurants, and that creative neighborhood feeling.

One day would definitely be for Dallas Farmers Market, coffee, and walking around downtown or Klyde Warren Park. I think that area gives a nice taste of the city without feeling too overwhelming.

For a true Texas experience, I would take them to the Fort Worth Stockyards. It’s fun, memorable, and very different from the wellness world I’m usually in. Then I’d balance that with the Kimbell Art Museum or a peaceful dinner in Fort Worth.

I would also plan a wellness day, maybe yoga, sound healing, a spa visit, or just a quiet afternoon somewhere calm. For me, showing someone the best time is not only about restaurants and places to visit. It’s also about helping them feel relaxed, cared for, and connected.

By the end of the week, I would want them to experience DFW as more than just a big metro area. I would want them to feel the creativity, the hospitality, the nature, the food, the art, and the slower moments that make the city feel special.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to dedicate my shoutout first to my family. They are my biggest support system and the reason I keep growing, learning, and building. As a mother, wife, and business owner, I know I could not do this without the love, patience, and encouragement I receive at home.

I also want to give credit to every person and company that has trusted Chakra Hours and welcomed us into their workplace or event. When a company invites us to create a moment of calm for their team, it means a lot. Every session, every conversation, and every piece of feedback has helped shape what Chakra Hours is becoming.

And finally, I want to recognize all the teachers, facilitators, and wellness practitioners who have inspired me over the years. Yoga, meditation, breathwork, and sound healing are practices that continue to teach me every day. I feel grateful to be able to share them with others in a way that feels accessible, grounded, and meaningful.
