We had the good fortune of connecting with Mick Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mick, what habits do you feel helped you succeed?
A few well-known habits that I feel help me succeed are believing in myself no matter what obstacles I face, time management, and choosing to continuously study the industry in which I chose to work in. While many people say believe in yourself actually learning how to do so takes time and a bit of knowing thyself as well. Learning that with life comes challenges but that those challenges also in many ways can help you grow it becomes a bit easier to believe in your goals and the things you do to reach them. Time management I feel is something that every entrepreneur must maintain in order to be successful because allocating time to things such as family, friends, wellness and rest play a huge part in being successful. After graduating with my first degree I learned quickly that although I had the foundation for success through education choosing to further my education by continuously studying the music industry and its changes is vital.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’d like to say that I am most proud of my own resilience, ability to overcome adversity and challenging myself to grow through my own uncomfortableness. I got where I am today by setting realistic goals, gaining accountability partners and not letting anyone distract me from what I know I am destined to do in this lifetime. Was it easy? NO. But is it rewarding? Absolutely! Throughout life there are always losses but not letting those losses become the foundation of the future I had already planned I feel is what helps me to overcome almost anything.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend from out of town visiting I would for sure take them to a local concert! The indie and major Dallas music scene has so much to offer! We would start with brunch in lower Greenville and enjoy a bit of the arts by stopping by the Dallas Museum and Aquarium. I’ve found that no matter what time or day of the week visiting the local farmers market is always great for lunch and the fresh fruit is the perfect way to gain a healthy energy boost! Happy hours happen all over town and I would take my friend up North to enjoy happy hour at one of my favorite spots inside of Legacy Food Hall.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my wife Mica Rose co-owner of Cosmic Rise Healing Boutique in Dallas, Texas.
