We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Reed Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren Reed, what principle do you value most?
I have a few: trust, communication, leadership, and respect. They’re all integral for understanding and achieving success…not only for ourselves, but for those we share time and work with as well. We have to be honest and transparent from the beginning to establish boundaries, set the standard, operate at a healthy pace, and get the job done.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A lot of people are under the impression that art has to be a specific medium. Has to look a certain way. My life experience is proof that everyone is creative…my journey has helped shape me to become the artist I am today. With an artistic background as a professional ballerina and Romana’s Pilates teacher, movement was the way I expressed myself. Over the years, I’ve had many opportunities in my career to exercise different muscles artistically and creatively, which validated my passion for telling a story. Grateful to have many tools in the tool belt – everything I’ve experienced and accomplished is a stepping stone for this moment right now. You can say each stop in the journey was a destination in itself! It’s not what we see, but how we see it. Creative interpretations and understanding build brands, connect the dots, foster relationships, and open others eyes to the true meaning of art. Every day is a new day, with new sets of challenges and excitement. Instead of chasing a specific title or career, I’ve learned to establish myself as a brand that is a missing puzzle piece for others. That to me is success. Getting up every day to keep the momentum going. To use what I have, stay honest and patient, and strive to be stronger than I was yesterday.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Born and raised in Dallas, but spent about 10+ years out of the city due to careers and well, life. Whole lotta World out there! What I love about Dallas is the roots, the connection, the feeling of home. Always growing, always adapting. I recently returned after a year of working in LA, and so much has changed! I recommend people approach exploring Dallas by visiting select neighborhoods. Pick an area and walk or bike to see what catches your attention – there is something for EVERYONE here. Hike, paddle board, visit museums or the arboretum, take a day trip to Ft. Worth, workout at boutique fitness studios, eat & drink at some of the country’s finest culinary establishments, shop (from vintage to designer), and patio hop. We LOVE a good brunch on a rooftop. Dallas has a lot of culture as seen with historic preservation, thriving businesses, and a melting pot of people from all over the world. We’ve got country, soul, and rock n roll.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My life and business partner Alexender Simoes. My story is not complete without him by my side motivating, supporting, and inspiring me. Alex is a true artist who oozes creativity in everything he sees and touches. His photography and design skills showcase his utter talent, but his passion and strength are truly what sets him apart. Honored and humbled that both of us show up every day to help each other navigate life together as we create. The dream!
