Meet Alma Seeders | Founder & Floral Designer, Soul Petals

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alma Seeders and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alma, what is the most important factor behind your success?
When I think about the most important factor behind my success, it’s honestly persistence. There have been moments where I’ve questioned how to keep going with balancing my full-time house manager work, late nights processing flowers, and growing a business from scratch. But what keeps me going is knowing that every arrangement I create means something to someone. That trust from my clients and the joy flowers bring is what makes all the hard work worth it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I didn’t start out with a grand plan, my love for flowers just grew into Soul Petals.
What I think sets me apart is that every arrangement I make has a personal touch. I love playing with unique blooms and modern styles. My goal is for every piece to feel special and reflect the person or event it’s created for.
Balancing this business while working full-time hasn’t been easy. I’ve had long days, late nights, and plenty of lessons learned. There have been moments of exhaustion, self-doubt, and plenty of mistakes along the way. But each challenge has taught me something valuable.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that you don’t have to have everything figured out before you start. Most of what I know today came from taking a chance, learning as I went, and continuing to show up even when things felt overwhelming.
I’m proud that I took a chance on myself. I didn’t have a big plan or all the answers. I just started. Watching Soul Petals grow and becoming part of people’s most meaningful moments has been the most rewarding part of the journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for the week, we’d definitely spend most of our time eating our way through Dallas. I’d take them to Masami in Richardson, a small family-owned sushi spot that I love, or Kura Revolving Sushi for a fun experience. We’d probably enjoy a nice steakhouse dinner in Uptown one evening, then spend a day at the Dallas Arboretum taking pictures and enjoying the gardens.
We’d also stop by Bishop Arts for coffee and shopping, do a little thrift shopping, and maybe grab bagels from Shug’s Bagels. Take a long walk at the Katy trail park and stop for a mid day lunch.
Depending on the week, we’d spend an evening at Texas Live for entertainment or catch a Rangers game. To balance out all the food, we’d probably take a Pilates or workout class together and spend some time outdoors with our dogs.
My favorite thing about Dallas is that there’s always something to do, whether it’s finding a great local restaurant, exploring a new neighborhood, or simply spending time with the people you love.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My biggest shoutout goes to my husband, Luis. Starting Soul Petals has been one of the most rewarding and challenging things I’ve ever done, and I couldn’t have done it without his support. He has encouraged me through the long days, late nights, self-doubt, and growing pains that come with building a business.. Whether it’s helping me load flowers, deliveries, listening to my ideas, or simply believing in me when I questioned myself, he’s been my biggest supporter. Soul Petals may be my business, but his love and encouragement have played a huge role in helping me get here.
