Meet Karolina Aguilar | Romantic Proposal Designer and Content Creator
We had the good fortune of connecting with Karolina Aguilar and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Karolina, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
I often wonder whether I should keep pushing forward or quit. I compare my current state with the facts. I consider whether I still have passion, a goal towards which I am moving, or a spark of motivation inside of me. I tell myself that I am definitely not finished when I feel this way. I consider whether I am tired, scared, or feeling overwhelmed because this may lead me to quit instead of continue. I quit when something doesn’t fit with who I am anymore.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is about creating moments that people can remember for the rest of their life. I am a designer of romantic proposal settings and visual storytelling for when a simple question can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am proud of how much love I put in everything I design. I am a designer who does not only decorate a space but instead infuses a space with emotion. I am most proud of being a designer who gets to help someone turn their vision into a reality because this day is one of the most special moments out of someone’s life.
Becoming where I am today in my career certainly was no easy feat. I had to begin with very little and had to learn everything through a process of trial and error. While this process included moments where I doubted, feared, and even had setbacks, I continued to push forward because I had faith in everything that I was doing.
The most important things I believe I have learned are that everything takes time to grow. Working hard always catches up with time. Authenticity means more to me than any comparison I might make to others. I have learned that being fully engaged and serving others with heartfelt care means more to me than any shortcut ever would.
What I would love for the world to understand about me and my brand is that my work derives out of love, faith, and commitment. Every installation I design has a story associated with it and my aim is to help couples commemorate their love in a manner that means the most to them. My art pertains to more than visual aesthetics because I aim to design a memory for a lifetime.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit, I would plan a full week of experiencing the heart of Dallas and its surrounding gems. We would start mornings with matcha at local favorites and brunch spots that have great vibes and amazing food. For daytime adventures, I would take them to walk through Uptown and shops, then visit the Dallas Arboretum for something peaceful.
For food, I would mix cozy local restaurants with Italian favorites and classic Texas flavors, enjoying handmade pastas, wood fired pizza, authentic tacos, and an occasional upscale steakhouse, plus fun dessert spots to end the night. Evenings would be spent at rooftop lounges or relaxed wine bars with skyline views, followed by live music or late night walks through neighborhoods full of art and culture.
One full day would be all about Fort Worth, visiting the Stockyards, watching the cattle drive, and soaking in the Western vibe mixed with modern dining. Another day would be for slowing down and relaxing, maybe a spa visit followed by sunset views at peaceful spots perfect for talking, unwinding, and taking photos.
I would definitely introduce them to the creative community, photographers, and artists who bring so much life and inspiration to the city. What makes Dallas so special to me is the blend of cultures, the creative energy everywhere you go, and the way people support big dreams. It is a city full of movement, style, and genuine connection.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My big shoutout to God, of course, my strength in dark times, the compass which always keeps me going, and faith that helps push me through those times of doubt. I’m grateful for my family, whose unwavering love and encouragement lift me up and for the clients who have believed in me from day one. I also want to make a mention of mentors and creators who lit bigger dreams in me. As mentioned, every blessing felt guided by a higher hand and backed by the people He placed along my path. Without that faith, I won’t be here today; without such amazing support, I wouldn’t be here either.
