We had the good fortune of connecting with Juauna Lewis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juauna, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
My business came about after struggling with infertility for over 10 years. At the time I went through it, I was closed off and didn’t know what to do or who to go to for help. I wasn’t big into social media and I was alone, ashamed, angry, disgusted, depressed, and angry all over again. I got stuck in that negativity. I started Hannah’s House Life Coaching to help support other women on this journey who are like me. While it’s natural to feel all those feelings on an infertility journey, getting stuck there serves no one—especially yourself.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Industry Fact! While I am a master certified life coach, one doesn’t have to attend classes or take tests to be considered a life coach. I,however, did pursue an education route because I wanted to make sure I’d be providing the best service possible. I originally graduated with an M.Ed in order to become a child counselor, but quickly decided I didn’t want to get into therapy. Along came life coaching and I knew it was for me because it was all about future focused, goal setting, and not dwelling in past traumas.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were to visit Dallas, it would definitely be different restaurants on the itinerary for every day of the week! I would take her to eat at The Biscuit Bar, King Krabz, The Dessert Spot (actually waxahatchie) and The Cake Bar for sweet tooth. King’s Deli (actually Farmers Branch) because good food is everything! I have to include a food truck or two because it’s the new wave. We are big seafood lovers so we’d have to visit Shells and Tails 2Geaux, TKB (thee kitchen beast)—I’d just have to make sure she wears comfortable shoes. It’s new and everyone wants to try it out! Playtime has to be a game of VR at Zero Latency. VR just feels so real and is such a good, fun experience. I’m not a club goer so restaurants would probably be our hang out spots.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m thankful to God who was gracious with me, Hubbie Jason as my biggest cheerleader, my 3 boys who are my biggest joy on this journey! I also appreciate my mom and brother John who are helping me with the online part of this business. You are all so valuable to me!
