We had the good fortune of connecting with Ian Cochran and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ian, why did you pursue a creative career?
Nothing makes me happier than playing music. Writing and performing songs is my favorite thing to do. It just makes sense to me to try and make this my career.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I consider my self a songwriter and performer. I am most proud of moving to Austin when I was 25 and starting a band and building a following. I guess I am proud of taking the risk. Im proud of the music I write and people who I hopefully inspire. Ive learned that the music industry is cut throat and very difficult to make a living in. Ive learned that you have to treat your music career like your everyday job and work extremely hard. Ive learned about myself, that I need to work harder If I want to support my family one day doing music. I want the world to know that I am happy because I get to do what I love. Im not where I want to be yet. But I am never going to stop doing this.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Places to go: Barton Springs Green Belt Mt. Bonnell Zilker Trail Places to eat: Sway Ramen Tatsuya La Barbeque Elizabeth Street Cafe Aba Music Venues: Antones Stubbs Hotel Vegas Cheer Up Charlies ACL

Sisi Berry. Lead Singer of Torino Black in Austin Texas. Beautiful soul inside and out. Fantastic singer songwriter. Level 3 sommelier. Was Co Owner of her own Paella business. Co General Manger of hotel Rancho Pillow. The list goes on with this one. She inspires me everyday.
