We had the good fortune of connecting with Gaby Pineda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gaby, how do you define success?
I define success with my happiness, not with how much money I will have at the end of year. Success for me is having the ability to wake up and get excited that I’m working on what I choose and on what sets a fire in my soul. Success, is having more and more knowledge on what I do and try every day to achieve a better version of me. Success for me is having the complete freedom to create my own schedule and to have time to be with my loved ones. And last but no least to be able to live comfortably and to have that extra money to spoil myself every once in a while.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I love being a wedding photographer, the fact that I can be a part of the most happiest days of someone’s life and that can create a story to tell the world about the couple’s big day, is just amazing. It’s like being on a roller coaster of emotions. It is not easy. A big part of your job has to do with the confidence you have and how you are going to face each obstacle. One lesson that I have learned and that I want to share is that you have to have confidence in yourself and don’t be scare to show off. How do you want to be known if you don’t go out and show the world what you are capable of.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Definitely Deep Ellum, we will spend all day there walking and taking pictures in all the murals and having lunch at Vidorrra. After that we will go to have some drinks at Stirr and catch up the sunset in their stunning roof top.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I took a tons of workshops, online courses, books, e-books, podcasts just to name a few but the fact my family has been always for me and my best friend Suzy that she always there for me to hear all my crazy stories and always give me that supports that I need when things don’t go the way I expected.
