We had the good fortune of connecting with Thalia and Kendrick LeBlanc and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Thalia and Kendrick, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
We came up with Lifestyle Valet LLC, for one purpose. We wanted to provide valet trash to apartment communities, but then something happened and we evolved. We transformed into a hub of information and resources for people wanting to start a business but not knowing where to start. We have an ever-growing list of different business types you can launch in and we will help you do it the right way with everything necessary to be successful in this new age.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are in the business of serving others. With expertise in business start-up, we pride ourselves in helping others start their journey as CEO. We started this business with something totally different in mind and quickly transformed into something greater than ourselves. We say that because we didn’t have this idea in mind but we felt pulled to do it. That being said, sometimes you have to let things happen as normally it is for the betterment of you. Stop trying to control everything. We never would have thought that people would look to us for information, but turns out in our community(Black and Minority), these resources have not been available to them and we feel it is our duty to pass along the information and help them understand that there is not some universal measure of success needed to be reached to start a business, you just start.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We live in downtown Dallas and we loved to be active. Every morning we would go to Ascension Coffee for their amazing Lavender Iced coffee. Snappy Salads for lunch. Go to Trinity Groves area and hit up Beto and Son for dinner and Cake Bar for dessert. The next day we would head to Arlington to Damian’s Cajun Soul Cafe and eat their amazing food which includes, smothered oxtails, Etoufee, fried fish and so much more. For the weekend hit up the Statler and have drinks on the rooftop pool. Head over for late-night tacos at Fuel City. Wake up for a walk to Klyde Warren Park and eat at the various food trucks. Sunday we would take them to Oakcliff Bible Fellowship, our home church. Followed by an afternoon at Whiterock lake, grilling, and tailgating, enjoying the water and sun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There have been so many people that have been instrumental in our story but I think we both agree that the big man upstairs is the creator of all and He orchestrates every single instance in our lives. We are thankful for Jesus Christ, for allowing us to wake up everyday with purpose and give us everything we need and more to only be successful, but also helping others.
