We had the good fortune of connecting with Dessiny Guyton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dessiny, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My business is derived from the desire to educate. Too many people assume that the beauty industry is an unattainable luxury that is only accessible to the elite. I wanted to ensure the accessibility and education to the beauty industry to both women and men of all economic and cultural backgrounds.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Full Circuit Beauty is a full body waxing & mobile beauty service. I provide full body waxing to both men and women as well as makeup applications and lash extension services. My passion to become a creator within the beauty space was inspired by both of my grandmothers who were showstoppers in any room that they entered. My journey wasn’t easy but I overcame each obstacle with faith and determination to make my dreams become my reality. I’ve learned that just because people you love don’t understand your vision it doesn’t mean they don’t love and support you. It means that they love you enough to not want your dreams to fail. I want the world to know that stepping outside of your comfort zone can be the best security measure taken for your future.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I moved to Dallas a little over a year and a half ago so I’m still learning and exploring. I’m Austin, TX born so naturally I love Deep Ellum and the Bishop Arts area. Honestly, when I drive amongst the city and catch the skyline at night, I get butterflies and think to myself “I really moved to Dallas! I really did it!”

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate this shoutout to my parents, grandparents, my extended family, my friends, all of my cheer/kickball coaches, every single one of my educators/professors/instructors, & mentors! Every single one of you fought hard to encourage me to overcome adversity! You fought so hard for me to be the woman I’ve become today. You’ve all encouraged my creativity and intelligence with nothing but love and support. I thank you!
