We had the good fortune of connecting with BOGGUS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi BOGGUS, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It may come across at first seeming selfish, but I pursue music for me. It’s my way of expressing myself. When I write lyrics they are just an expression or just facts about my life and the things around it. When I produce for another artist it’s just me putting a splash of my soul on their project through in instrument or piece of production. And when I perform that is the highest purest form of me period. My art is not my identity but helps outsiders get perspective on my identity. And those who resonate with the music are those who I know I can resonate with because it’s deeper than just a surface level connection.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Super excited where we are as a band and as a crew. Nightstand Lamps is about to release our first E.P. titled ODD•I•TY. We have definitely had our struggles with this project the band recorded all of it out of our house based in Fortworth Texas through most of 2019. The process from start to finish has been a journey. These songs started when I was 14 first starting to write music and finally are seeing light almost a decade later. The project as a whole is a reflection of me at that age growing into who I am now. It’s very much a coming of age story and we are super excited for its release. The biggest lesson I learned through the course of the project is this. I am in a band with equal members and parts and so these first songs are mostly an expression of me, but the stuff coming after is a reflection of the band.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
