We had the good fortune of connecting with Becky Morris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Becky, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Fashion is what you buy and style is how you wear it.” I love this quote because fashion really is a great way to express your self – what your feeling, your mood for the day too. And clothing that is presented on the runway is just a starting point – its all about making it your own and adding your own style and personality to your look. I love fashion because I can be anyone I want each day – it’s all about how you dress for it.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a clothing store called Lily Claire in downtown Prosper with my daughter Lily. We are a mother-daughter team who loves fashion and shopping! We inspire each other and are excited to share our love of fashion with our customers! We believe fashion is what you buy and style is how you wear it.

I love fashion! My former job as the Fashion and Marketing Director for Saks Fifth Avenue kept me busy producing runway shows and events for many designers and celebrities. As a fashion stylist, I have worked with hundreds of clients providing styling guidance, wardrobe consulting, personal shopping, and closet cleanouts. Modern, boho, vintage – I love and wear it all! I have always wanted to curate my own collection of clothing that I love and was so excited to open our boutique last November. Opening a store during a pandemic was not easy but a great opportunity came to us and we felt it was the right time. My husband Bill is a commercial real estate broker so he has given me great advice too.

I feel that our fashion knowledge sets us apart from other boutiques and our styling services are something we are excited to offer all our clients. Whether they need help putting a look together for a special occasion or every day, we can provide lots of options. We are also excited to offer Fashion 101 classes as well as Shopping Parties – both are great for girls’ night out or special events.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well of course I would have them check out our little town on Prosper! They could eat lunch at The Gin, a cute local landmark eatery that’s been a part of the town for years. And they def need to check out Famous in Oregon – a darling plant shop with lots of usual plants and great advice on how to keep them alive too! In Dallas, we love to go to Legacy West to check out all the new chic new stores like Gucci, LV and Tory Burch as well as all the great food in the Food Hall plus restaurants like Haywire for a taste of Texas.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Very much to my family – my husband Bill for encouraging me to take the plunge to open a store at a crazy time and for believing in me that I can be successful. My daughter Lily for partnering me in this venture – for going to market with me to buy, helping to merchandise and designing the store look with me and being there day to day to help our wonderful clients.
My son, Liam who is always helping me to see the “bigger picture” and set goals for myself and the business that will help us grow and flourish.
