We had the good fortune of connecting with Aston Floyd and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aston, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I believe risk taking is the key to success, forging a new/better future rarely happens without risks. If I couldn’t handle risk I would have never entered the risky stock market game. The success also didn’t happen overnight, I lost money in the beginning over the timeline of the learning process. Over that time, I learned from each mistake and formulated a plan that I teach others today. You have to risk failure if you ever want to win.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I teach people how to put their money to work in the stock market through my virtual/online trading course. The course is self-paced for the person on the go to learn at anytime.
My current roles (trader/instructor/mortgage loan originator) are all by-products of perseverance, consistency willingness to learn new skills, I’m a firm believer that these were critical to me getting where I am today. It’s ok to feel unqualified in the beginning of any new venture but the answer to that is get qualified and learn what’s required to advance. None of it was easy and there were many days where I contemplated changing course, thankfully I kept going because I knew the payoff would come eventually.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My top places to eat, drink and visit in Dallas would be taco lingo over in victory park or klyde Warren food trucks, for fun we’d head over to deep ellum for any fun nights out
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Mother who passed December 6th 2020 I dedicate it all to her, without her love, support I wouldn’t be in this position today
