We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Kay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, what do you attribute your success to?
Failure. Without struggle there’s no progress. There has been plenty of times that I just wanted to give up. It’s definitely a challenge every day to be an entrepreneur.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My passion has always been to help people. At times, it has been taken advantage of but it made me who I am today. If I ever lended a hand it came from the heart. I started my first entrepreneur journey in 2007 when I became a massage therapist. I’ve always had the passion to own a spa. That dream became a reality on February 4, 2020. Perfected Imperfections Med Spa is located in Grand Prairie, TX off State Highway 161 and I30. We offer a wide variety of services that can be found on our website imperfectdfw.com. In addition to this new venture I’m still running my marketing/printing company AK Marketing Solutions. The suite next door to my spa became available and I was able to conveniently move my marketing business there. I believe everything has it’s timing and purpose. That’s what sets me apart from most, my patience. I tend to not get discouraged when things fall apart. Instead I sit back, analyze, create a plan then execute it. Only way to know if it will workout is to try! My drive and self motivation is a blessing and I will use it to the best of my ability. My motto is “You eat what you kill” and I strive to kill it everyday!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely brunch at Saint Anns then make it a spa day at either King Spa or Spa Castle. I love going to day parties at Level or One Sette. For the night life I would go to Velvet Hookah Lounge or just somewhere similar that is laid back and chill.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
