I recently saw a post that included “The Golden Rule” as it’s conveyed in various teachings. This ethical directive, if you will, transcends many different faiths, beliefs, and philosophies. My simple interpretation – “treat others as you would want to be treated” speaks to me. In a creative process it’s much easier to be most effective if there is a lack of negative energy. My favorite quote is “People do not buy goods & services, they buy relations, stories, & magic.” This quote reminds me how to run my business and serve my clients. I don’t want clients to book with me just because they need the service I can provide, but more so because of the experience and relationship they will be gaining when working with me. The most rewarding projects I’ve completed in the entirety of my business have been those where the client & I connected on a deep level and when they didn’t see me as simply a service provider. We as humans aren’t just looking for a product, I think we are looking for relationship and service.
