We had the good fortune of connecting with Bailey Jarrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bailey, did college have a meaningful and positive impact for you?
Absolutely! All three of us (we’re a marketing company co-owned by siblings) have earned at least one if not two degrees and our experience was a little unconventional. Coming from a big family, we decided to pursue college online while continuing to work and pay for school ourselves. Our goal was to earn our degrees debt free with a resume full of work experience by the time we graduated. This route gave us the opportunity to develop our skills through the real world applications of everything we learned in the classroom. It was worth every penny, because for us it’s not about the diploma as much as it is accomplishing something difficult. Like climbing a mountain, you don’t know it can be done until you reach the peak yourself. We carry that work ethic into our business and face challenges with the same diligence developed during those years.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are Jarrell Creative House, a marketing and creative agency run by a sibling trio in Dallas, Texas! We love empowering businesses with dynamic rebrands, providing visually captivating digital content, and enhancing their web presence through highly converting, custom websites. We’re also extremely passionate about family, travel, and entrepreneurship so we launched this business together in the fall of 2019 for the purpose of customizing life to fully embrace those values together. Having three co-owners is so fun because we lean into each other’s strengths and laugh with each other every day. It also comes with challenges, since each of us have continued to work full time while building the business so we could invest as much capital back into the company as possible. Learning how to juggle the fast pace of a growing company is a challenge, but having each other to lean on has been the greatest support during the start up phase of our business. Our marketing tactics are very strategy focused, using industry research and data as a foundation for our rebrands and creative content. We rely heavily on our client’s own expertise, partnering with them from a place of collective ingenuity and entrepreneurialism that we’ve found to be really profound. Our goal is to support the various marketing needs of businesses throughout every industry, marrying our expertise with their professionalism to build their legacies.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We were born and raised in DFW, and having traveled to many different cities all over the world we can easily say this is one of the best places on earth! If our friends from abroad came into town we would absolutely start with mexican food or street tacos from Velvet Taco. We might do a little shopping while on Henderson or visit the Dallas Farmers’ Market for weekend browsing. We’d include many coffee shop visits starting with Houndstooth, and hop over to Joy macarons for dessert. Klyde Warren park is next on the list while saving a couple hours to wander the DMA. If we’re feeling fancy, we’d take a trip up to the Reunion Tower to see the city in full view, followed by dinner at Paradiso in Bishop Arts. If there’s time left, and a good alt band playing in town, we’d have to stop by Deep Ellum for a live show. Since food is always a good idea, we’d have to snag a bite from Emporium Pies and/or partake of the most delicious BBQ in town at Pecan Lodge. To wrap things up, we would take a train into downtown historic Grapevine and enjoy the small town feel before heading back to the airport for goodbyes. There’s so much more to see, but those are definitely some of the best!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Definitely our parents, Darrell & Tomi Jarrell! We thank them not only for their support and belief in our dreams, but also credit them for our family’s entrepreneurial background which inspired the creation of our business. Our parents have spent nearly 30 years building their own business and raising us to work hard, believe well, and walk through life together.
