We had the good fortune of connecting with Paulina Magdaleno and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Paulina, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The economic fallout of the pandemic. Future has always being uncertain, but after 2020, I learned to be better prepared for unexpected events. Also, after the presidential elections I felt so burned out, exhausted and frustrated. The intolerance, the tensions, the frustrations, everybody angry and on edge. I have always been a positive, hopeful person, so I woke up one day and decided to recover my energy and focus it on my passion for health, wellness, and personal growth. This is how 24.7 Healthy was born. A social platform, a community to lift each other up and share the goodness of a healthy lifestyle based on gratitude and self-respect.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am proud of having a career that started 29 years ago and it is still going strong. My ability to adapt my journalism knowledge to other areas has been key to my success as a former social media manager, communication consultant and public relations director. Every step of my journey has helped to where I am today, my core values haven’t changed and I think that has been vital to my success: discipline, passion, hard work, honesty… I have learned that you have to be consistent and patient, and never compromise yourself to please others. “It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it.” Warren Buffet said that and it is one of my favorite phrases. My brand and my company reflect everything I am and what I am passionate about. You cannot fool people. Your actions have to come from the heart and your life experiences. I want to inspire and empower and show that yes, anything is possible, but you have to do the work. No magic pills here.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The whole DFW area is fantastic! I lived in Fort Worth and now I am in Irving… so this is difficult! I would suggest to stay at The Ritz-Carlton in Dallas. First couple of days we can hit the Dallas Museum of Art, The Nasher Sculpture Center, The Modern and the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth. Do some shopping at Clearfork and have lunch at Rodeo Goat or Pacific Table. A visit to The Stockyards is a must and a wine tasting of some sort in Grapevine.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Gosh! So many people I can thank for supporting me in my journey! My mentor Pedro Camara, whom I met in 1998 when I was working as a journalist. He taught me all I needed to know to become a professional, lead with example and always aim towards excellence. My friend and former boss Gaby Natale, the SuperLatina! I worked for her for three years and I learned tons about entrepreneurship! She is now a successful business woman, a role model and a motivational speaker with TWO books under her belt! My beloved yoga studio, Indigo Yoga and all of their instructors. The depth and discipline of the practice has made stronger, and more aware of my emotions, how to deal with them, how to learn from every single experience in life.
