Meet Cylla Senii | Actress, PGA Producer, Director, Writer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cylla Senii and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cylla, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think a major factor that contributed to my success is the ability to embrace the journey and keep going. Being focused and willing to see it turn out has definitely helped! As creatives, we sometimes can have a lot of interests, but typically when I’m able to hone in on something with a plan, pivoting when I need to, and seeing it though until the end has definitely been beneficial. As long as you stay true to your goals and never forget why you started, it all tends to work out in the end when you have the right mindset – and that’s what the journey is all about!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I came up with the idea of creating a Situationships series in 2014. I thought it would be cool and fun! Over the years, I created the digital series and was excited to see that people related to it. With the support of the wonderful people around me, I was able to get it distributed on BET, Amazon, and Tubi! Now I’m super excited to be developing the television show with Monami Entertainment! It’s definitely been a journey to get to this point, and I believe having the right dedication, faith, and hard work has certainly helped to get here. Dreams are possible, and there’s a reason you have them. I’m grateful to all the dreamers who supported me along the way!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For me and my besties, I say we definitely love to go on an adventure! We love going to fun events, screenings, concerts, museums, anything that can bring us joy or surround us with amazing food or dope vibes. Recently, we’ve been excited to explore new countries or major cities! International trips have been our biggest go to lately, so that’s where you can find us having an amazing time!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that have supported me in my journey, it’s hard to pick one! I’m grateful to my family, friends, and team who have constantly encouraged me throughout my journey in a variety of ways. I’m so grateful to Mona Scott-Young for being a phenomenal mentor and for supporting my journey as a black woman in tv & film. I’m grateful to my college, UGA, for giving me the foundational skills to begin my career and for every brand and network along the way that’s supported my art.
