Deka Mack | Texas Realtor and Developer
Well I took a risk more so “a leap of faith” when I relocated to Texas. I visited and loved the vibes it was more my speed. I’ve always been this confident person and I’m a Gemini we can adapt and succeed in any environment. Prior to moving I’ve traveled to over 35 states. There was no fear. You can’t be afraid of risk otherwise you’ve already failed. Of course with the favor of God anything is possible. Best risk I ever took 7 years later. Read more>>
Jamey Howe | Wood Flower Florist
s my mom always said, “You have to risk it to get the biscuit!” Greatness will not come from staying inside of your comfort zone. You have to take risks if you want to create greatness in your life. I am certainly more of a calculated risk taker myself, but I will take the risk nonetheless. Starting my own business was I think the first big risk I ever took on myself. I was betting on my own abilities and that was so tough for me, but I am SO glad I did, and so grateful it brought me here! Read more>>

Raney Antoine Jr. | Musician, Educator, Songwriter and Producer
I want my legacy to be centered in joy, love, growth, and impact. Sometimes people discuss “legacy” while people are still alive. That’s odd to me because they’re not finished contributing yet! I’m a firm believer that you are old until you become set in your ways, stop learning, and stop growing. Progress and growth is always the goal. Whether I’m in a recording studio, classroom, business meeting, or live performance: where’s the growth opportunity? Where’s there progress to be made? Regardless of what I can see, I’ll choose to be the agent of growth. Stay curious and consistent. Read more>>

I firmly disagree with being the “typical artist” there are so many people that try to squeeze you into little boxes until it fits their criteria of what they want for you. I think being yourself is a big gift to yourself no matter how that looks. Read more>>
Hannah Eboagu | Registered Dietitian & Business Owner
It’s hard to mention just one thing about the nutrition field that people are probably unaware of, so I am going to quickly share my top two: One, dietitians, and nutritionists are not the same thing! Registered Dietitians (RD) are licensed and credentialed healthcare workers who undergo supervised clinical practice hours, need a graduate degree, and take national board exams. Nutritionists are less regulated, and, in many places, anyone can claim the title without even having standardized training. Second, RD’s are capable of way more than just helping people lose or gain weight. Read more>>
Nancy Ochoa | Tattoo Artist
During my decision making to fully commit on becoming a tattoo artist, I knew I was going to face challenges and sacrifices. The most difficult decision I ever had to make was sacrificing the time spent with my daughter. At that time I had recently filed for divorce and had a full time job but eager to start my career. I also had just move in with my brother. Many changes were being made so rapidly. Although I had family support I didn’t know all the challenges I was going to face. From having two to three jobs at one point and to having to fully drop a stable income to fulfill my career as a tattoo artist. Read more>>

Starting this business was the most difficult decision. I knew it was going to be hard work and a lot of stress that came with it. And I called my mother, just to talk to her. She begins to tell me a story Ive never heard. Read more>>
Hayley Smith | DFW Hairstylist
Growing up with curly hair, I struggled to learn how to take care of my curls. At 14, I finally figured it out, and it made a huge difference in how I viewed myself. This experience sparked a realization: if I faced these challenges, there had to be others who were struggling too. I wanted to create a space where people could feel understood and supported in their journey with their natural hair. My passion for creativity led me to become a hairstylist aiming to inspire others to embrace their unique beauty.
