We had the good fortune of connecting with Varcy D and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Varcy, is there something you believe many others might not?
I firmly disagree with being the “typical artist” there are so many people that try to squeeze you into little boxes until it fits their criteria of what they want for you. I think being yourself is a big gift to yourself no matter how that looks.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
It definitely wasn’t easy getting here but I’ve used adversity to climb the ladder. I’ve always set my own pace and ran my own race. It took years to acquire many different things but it’s definitely worth it. I think have to work towards achievements gives you a way better stance in life. I’m proud of going through the right avenues and having resilience. I’d want the world to know that one day it’ll come together and they’ll get to see what I’ve been working so hard on!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would say that I’ve had so many mentors for different parts of my life. Some of them were more active than others but I’m thankful for them all. For sure my team in Texas Jordache Grant and Jah born they been there for quite some time now and I’m always learning from them! There’s a new mentor, Emperor, he’s doing an amazing job at assisting with so many things that I’ve overlooked. I have a few anonymous mentors and I cherish them a whole lot!
