We had the good fortune of connecting with Valarie Kerby and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Valarie, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I believe success comes with a clients perspective. Being a people person gives me the ability to assist all clients from listing luxury homes to first time home buyers. I enjoy listening to my clients stories about their dream homes, having the ability to help clients see a diamond in the rough and create a vision that encompasses what they want in a home has proven to be successful for my business. I am extremely fortunate to have a referring database.. which leads to huge success from client loyalty.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Fortunately, I came from a 20 year career in Corporate America, Business Marketing. I believe in order to take care of clients you take care of them daily always readily available for all their REAL ESTATE NEEDS. A real estate career has ebbs and flows with market changes so a strong marketing plan annually, quarterly, monthly and day to day is essential for success. My success has not been easy, I started in 2009, when real estate was tough, foreclosures and short sales were a common transaction. I learned a great deal during this time about sellers and buyers and definitely took many notes! I would like my future clients to know.. Investing in a home is one of the most important decisions that you will ever make, I am the North Texas real estate agent, you can count on in order to guide you through one of the best choices of your life. Knowing that each transaction is unique, I take the time to listen to each of my clients so I can give them exactly what they want, exceed expectations and close with a successful transaction. When I was designing my brand, I wanted unique branding. Thus, “Valarie Kerby-Not Your Ordinary Real Estate Agent” was created and copyrighted.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love giving my clients the tour! Depending on what city they are looking to relocate to depends on our itinerary. Some of the most recent places I have taken clients are the McKinney Historic District, we have had coffee at Filtered, snacks at the local Popcorn Shop, lunch at Harvest. When my clients have children we have enjoyed play time at the Bonnie Wenk Park, splash pad at Finch Park. If moving to Dallas Area, Dallas Aboretum is always a hit and I love to pack a picnic for my clients.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The love of my life aka my husband is extremely supportive, assisting with placing signs, open house signs, cookie deliveries, print shop deliveries and understanding the night and weekend work! My grown children are also very gracious in referring friends for my assistance. There is no I in team, we all work together and everyone reaps the benefits.
