We had the good fortune of connecting with Tori DuBose and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tori, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always loved art based activities. I didn’t even know I wanted to be an interior designer until my 2nd year of college, but art has been my favorite subject and pass time for as long as I can remember. I’ve dabbled in almost every form of art and I noticed that has always been when I am most happy. So of course when I went off to college, I knew I wanted to pursue an art career, I just didn’t know what. One of my professors actually suggested Interior design as a career path for me. I took the intro course and I was hooked!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am starting on my own so it is all very new. I’m excited about the opportunities this step will bring. It is a scary step, but one that could bring great rewards. I love the business of Interior Design, I love creating, and I love bringing joy to people’s homes. I’m proud of myself for trying to create a business that not only will benefit me, but also benefits the people I’m connected to, my future generation, and the people I encounter. I just want to give back positivity, color, and beautiful designs.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love food so I would definitely show her a cool place to eat like Mexican Sugar or Tupelo Honey. We then could go to Electric Gamebox, which is this really cool place in Grandscapes in The Colony. It’s a virtual room where you can play games that are larger than life. We could also go to this place called Puttery. Also in Grandscapes, it is a mini golf venue with 3 different themed rooms. They also have great drinks!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom for always supporting me Chanda Kea for recommending me for this interview
Jane Reece for being a great Interior Designer and 1st experience to the world of interior design
