We had the good fortune of connecting with Tessa Todd Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tessa, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Taking things that others might view as failures as debriefing moments and making things better as a result. I simply look at what worked, what didn’t and what I can do different moving forward. I had the privilege of doing business development for 3 years for a group of fighter pilots called Afterburner before starting my own business and loved learning their process and it has helped me tremendously. Also, just that I keep going. If something isn’t doing well I try something else. During these times with Covid it took me many weeks of trial and error to go virtual. I think alot of people might have given up, but fortunately, I kept pushing through and now I’m luckily seeing a huge payoff.
What should our readers know about your business?
TRIESSENCE offers speaking engagements, workshops and coaching to companies and individuals around the globe. Our primary focus is on mindfulness, stress relief, emotional intelligence and personal/professional development. TRIESSENCE: /trī/esəns/ (noun) The perfect balance between the three elements of your true essence – physical, mental and spiritual. Aligning these three states results in happiness, fulfilling relationships, health, success, love and joy. This is what it’s all about. Helping others take better care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. I know what it’s like to sabotage myself to pieces and be stressed as all get out and not live life to the fullest. And, it doesn’t have to be that way. So, I love helping others make significant changes in their lives to find more joy and peace. It has been a journey and in the 7 years I’ve been in business of course there have been times where I’ve doubted myself or thought about giving up and doing something different. But, I am so grateful that I have stuck with it and wouldn’t change a thing. Every obstacle and debriefing moment has only brought more clarity and made me stronger and better at what I do. I by no means am perfect or have it all figured out, but, I do believe I’m doing what I was born to do and I give God all the credit. The more I step out of the way and let Him be in control, the more fun it is to sit back and watch the magic happen. I couldn’t be more grateful for what I get to do on a daily basis and that I get to interact with people from all walks of life in hopes that they can be happier and live more productive & fulfilled lives.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Years ago it would have been all about the best of the best restaurants with great wine and probably sushi. Today, I’d have to say things have changed quite a bit. It would be sitting on my deck at the TRIESSENCE office with them surrounded by trees and having a mindful conversation where we are both fully present. Or, hiking on a nature trail or anywhere we could sit and look at water or beautiful nature scenery. That’s my idea of the best time ever. And, the most exciting people to me are the ones that are willing to go there and be real and vulnerable and can handle a great intimate conversation. I still love the people that can’t too though 🙂
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout for this moment in time would be to my sweet grandmother, Mimi. I lost her in September to Covid. I now like to think of her as my angel in heaven orchestrating some fun things from above. Since her passing I’ve been busier than ever. Despite the pain and agony of what my family and I went through, it makes me chuckle a bit to see that since I’m talking about her so much now and using her as my passion and inspiration that next week alone I have 3 virtual events where I’m honored to get to speak to 7,500 people. The funny part about it for me is that she loved attention. So, of course since I’m talking about her it doesn’t surprise me that I’m being blessed with being able to help alot of groups during this time 🙂 The greatest gift she ever taught me is to love everyone and treat everyone the way you wish they would treat you. I believe she’s the reason my greatest passion in life is helping people live their lives to their fullest potential. It all started with this special woman a long, long time ago and I’ll be forever grateful to her for teaching me some of the most important lessons of my life.
