We had the good fortune of connecting with Tasha Jay and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tasha, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Consistency, dedication and humbleness! These habits are the glue to my success. It’s important to remain consistent regardless if things are up or down! Hard work does not go unnoticed. Just because it didn’t happen now doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Dedication is important to your craft, what you put it will reflect. So I believe that your dedication always has to be at 100%. Also your a reflection of your business, so if you don’t seem dedicated people will be able to see that! Humbleness, is a key to life. Remain humble at all times, just like it was given it can easily be taken away!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a singer/songwriter and I love it! I’ve sang all my life but pursuing my music career professionally is a different animal. The roads are not easy, it’s a constant up and down rollercoaster. However, over time I have managed to continue to elevate my journey! Staying positive, continuing even when its hard and learning new things has help build my brand!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am a HUGE foodie. So first thing I like to do is find a yummy new restaurant to try or even try a old spot. Dallas has numerous restaurants of all kinds. My current favorite is Viddora, sheesh I don’t know what it is but I’m a sucker for their food! Not to mention their wide range of ritas ;). So I know that would be one of the first spots we hit. Attractions are also unlimited in Dallas from museums to Deep Ellum to night life. There is a wide range of things to do sun up to sun down. So we would definitely make our way around the city! I’m a huge fan of working out so all of my friends know at some point we are going to break a sweat. I currently workout at DDD Performance Center in Carrollton. I train with Samuel Oyenuga (the GOAT) so I would definitely take my guest there to experience that environment.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Honestly I owe it all to God, I would not be where I am without him! He has made ways out of no way on numerous occasions! I am forever thankful of his grace! In addition, there’s many people family/friends that support me along the way and daily. My family and direct friend group keep me uplifted, motivated and positive which keeps me grounded. I love y’all!
