We had the good fortune of connecting with Shevon Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shevon, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Marketing is a highly complex and multi-faceted industry. There are a plethora of marketing ideas and tactics out there, but I’m a strong believer in having a solid strategic approach to serve as a guide for all your marketing activities. I’ve seen companies proceed with executing tactics like social content or partnerships without having a solid understanding of their target audience, brand positioning, or strategic approach. These foundational elements are critical to long-term brand success and are key areas of focus when I partner with my clients.
What should our readers know about your business?
I work with time-pressed, savvy small business owners looking to efficiently scale their business by providing customized, integrated marketing solutions to address business challenges. What differentiates me from the competition is my personal 1:1 approach, extensive industry knowledge, and my obsession to provide thoughtful strategies that are proven to deliver client success.
For the past 13 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work at world-class marketing agencies in three major markets: Boston, Chicago, and now Dallas. Throughout my career, I’ve led integrated marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies like State Farm, United Airlines and AT&T. This year, I decided to leverage my industry experience to start my own marketing consultancy. I’m fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue my passion for marketing and work closely with company founders and business owners to craft thoughtful marketing strategies that drive direct company growth.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve lived in Dallas for almost two years and my career and family keep me pretty busy, so I haven’t been able to truly explore the city as much as I like. With that said, Tacos and Avocados, Mod’s Pizza and Marble Slab are a few of my favorite local Grand Prairie spots.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband and parents have always been extremely supportive of me throughout my entire career. They’ve encouraged me to leverage my deep industry experience, personal approach, and my unwavering dedication to my clients to ultimately branch out and start my own business.
