We had the good fortune of connecting with Seyi Salaam and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Seyi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always had an interest in Real Estate as a young kid. I remember always watching HGTV growing up and thinking to myself, I’d one day do the same thing. Not to mention, most if not all millionaires and the wealthy are in Real Estate.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Elim – /Ee-Leem/ which means a place of peace and rest. Referenced in the bible. At Elim Homes, our mission is to be a driving force in the relentless pursuit of success and focus on adding value. We are dedicated to delivering high-quality products that surpass our client’s expectations while positively impacting the communities we operate in.

I’m excited about where the company is currently, and where we’re headed. The future is bright!

I started my Real Estate journey in 2019 wholesaling houses for about two years, then transitioned into the construction side of things. Which is what I truly enjoy compared to wholesaling. No, it wasn’t easy especially having to figure out most of what I know today on my own. However, doing my research and due diligence has always helped me navigate any obstacle(s).

A few lessons I’ve learned are to be patient, and diligent, stay focused on the mission at hand, & never lose sight of your vision, goals, & dreams. Most importantly, keep the main thing, the main thing.

I’m just a kid born in Lagos, Nigeria who was graced with an opportunity to move to the U.S. at the age of 9 to have a better opportunity in life and to become successful. I am no different than you or anyone else. Anyone who knows me knows I am very ambitious, I strive for greatness in anything I do or am a part of, & most importantly, I have God on my side so I can’t fail.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m probably not the best person to ask because I don’t go out much but I’d say some fun/nice places to visit are;

Fun Activities:
– Bowling
– Gun Ranges
– Top Golf

Food & Vibes:
– Vidorra
– Izkina
– Komodo

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, without God, none of this would be possible. So I thank him for always guiding and ordering my footsteps.

Thanks & shout out to my family and close friends for all the support and prayers. However, I’ll like to specially highlight my parents for taking me in at an early age, nurturing me, and teaching me great morals & principles. Lastly, I would like to thank my mom for her constant belief in my dreams & aspirations and as well as her prayers. I remember about 5 years ago or so, she gave me a book called “Rich Dad. Poor Dad.” That book changed my outlook on life and entrepreneurship.
