We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Amechi Arinze and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sean Amechi, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
Thank you for the questions, I will say the end goal is to become a household name in the fashion industry, it is definitely going to take lot of work but like they say good things don’t come easy, I am down to put all that is needed of me to become a household name in the fashion industry and also carve a niche for myself. Professionally, first of all I’ll say self fulfillment and financial fulfillment as well (lol), at the same time being a reference point in the fashion industry, taking my craft beyond my geographical location and helping up coming fashion designers that is where I want to be professionally. Any thing that comes after is a bonus.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Fashion is my art and my tool of passing my message without having to utter a word.

By Gods grace, I will say my extra imaginary thinking, having to envisage how clothes will look on people not minding their race and body morphology and finally going to that place were everyone hasn’t been to(uniqueness).

My proudest moment will be having to bring an Africa fabric meant only for sunny or summer weather and make it wearable for the autumn and winter season. I am proud to say I am the first designer to do that.

I got here because of the passion and penchant admiration for clothes, there the creative was born .it wasn’t easy at all when i started I was giving unnecessary discounts for clients so they could patronize me. Lol
I overcame by being persistent, creative not relaxing or under the influence of past achievements, striving and wanting more.

Lessons learnt is that if you are no passionate about a career you might fall by the way side, you need to be passionate about a career before Venturing into it cos some days in work place can be challenging and you start questioning your self. Be innovative and find a mentor, no one is an island, be consistent and above all be appreciate of your small wins but don’t dwell too much on it.

I want the world to know my brand is not for everyone not just for people that look like me, fashion is Universal language/tool.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our first point of call will be canary wharf in LONDON enjoy the nice serene while in a nice restaurant( no free advert lol), then we pack our bags to Cornwall enjoy your everything’ that Cornwall has to offer, I mean one week wouldn’t even been enough but I have to improvise. Then end the weekend in london and attend the London fashion week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and friends.
