We had the good fortune of connecting with Rebecca Hogan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebecca, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
It’s easy to look at others’ accomplishments and disqualify yourself. Over the years I have discovered that there are days you don’t feel like you are making an impact, which is why it is vital to stay in the right mindset. So many times we feed those thoughts and give up but thankfully there is hope. I lean on God to help me through each day. The word of God inspires me to stay positive and keep moving forward. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall [a]direct your paths.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up in a house of faith we learned to believe in God for everything we needed. As a child, I didn’t realize how this lifestyle would affect my future as an adult. I was always the shy one and I struggled in certain subjects in school especially reading. I did my best to hide all my insecurities but on the inside, it was eating me up and I didn’t even know it. Negative thoughts grew and it held me back from fulfilling my call in life. It’s a good thing God is patient and he doesn’t give up on us. As I continued to read God’s word I gained a new perceptive of who I was. I started seeing life differently. Instead of looking at what I couldn’t do God showed me what I could do. That was the turning point. I started coming out of my shell and sharing with others that everyone has potential even if they don’t see it yet. God instructed me to start a YouTube Chanel and encourage individuals how to live by faith and stay in the right mindset. Learning how to trust God even in difficult situations was monumental, especially during my second pregnancy. There was a moment when I was laying on the bathroom floor surrounded by what looked like death. But by the grace of God and knowing how to stay in faith even during chaos a miracle happened. Since then I wrote a book called “Pushing Through Pregnancy” which shares in detail how to believe for a certain gender, how to stay positive when things look bad and how to manage your emotions. Life doesn’t have to be something we dread just because we don’t know what tomorrow brings. It’s possible to wake up excited and conquer the day.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in a small town across from Skydive Spaceland Dallas. When we have friends visit we like to sit out on the front porch as the skydiver’s parachute to the ground. This will either inspire you to jump out of a plane too or make you grateful you are on land. Either way, it makes you pause and think about life and where you are going next. After all that excitement, we would drive to George Coffee to enjoy their amazing drinks and tasty treats. Then to end the trip we would drive to the lake and eat brisket from 19&20 BBQ.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God has been my number one helper through life but I also have to thank my husband Jason who continues to believe in me and helps in every way possible in each new chapter.
