We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachael Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachael, what is the most important factor behind your success?
One of the most important factors behind the success of my brand is authentic community. A big part of my brand is based on teaching women how to boldly walk in their true identity and I cannot do that without authentic community.

I realized that people don’t want just another brand or service, they want something genuine. People want an experience. People also want relationships and community. They want genuine and authentic relationships.

We are not meant to do life alone so I wanted to create a space where women could work toward living out their purpose together. I realized that women could go find another online coach anywhere but what they were really craving was authentic community. That was also something I needed when I was on a journey to find my purpose. I just wanted to provide women what I wished I had when I was struggling to discover who I really am and what I am called to do.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an author, speaker and coach. I teach women how to discover their true purpose and create a life that they love.

I originally decided to write a book because I knew the story I had to tell would impact so many lives. I wanted my story to be an example of healing and thriving. I wanted my story to be an example of turning pain into purpose.

I went through a lot growing up, like A LOT. I was adopted so I dealt with rejection and abandonment issues. My dad was on drugs so we struggled. I always found myself in toxic relationships with older men. That just scratches the surface but I always overcame every single challenge. I believe that was because my story was supposed to be used to change lives.

When I reflect back on all the things that I have been through and the beauty that has now come from it, I am amazed by all that God will do if you allow him to.

Every day, I get to wake up and teach women how to walk in the fullness of who they are. I get to show women that you can create a life you love regardless of where you came from. I get to be an example of what you can be.

Yes, I am proud of all that I have been able to achieve, but I would say that I am most proud of the fact that I get to serve women who are just like I was. I always talk about the importance of community and mentorship because I truly believe in it. There is no way I would be where I am without the mentors that I have had.

People ask me all the time about my biggest accomplishments. You will never hear me mention the book sales, the money, or the status. You will hear me talk about the middle girls I get to mentor or the lives I get to witness be changed because I am investing in them, the same way someone invested in me. I say all that to say that when people look at my brand, I don’t them to just see me. I want them to see the community of women that are out here walking in the fullness of their purpose and changing lives because, at the end of the day, I understand that this is not about me. It is so much GREATER than me.

For anyone that is struggling to identify their purpose: I would say that your story matters. Sometimes the scars and wounds we have gotten from life’s circumstances were meant to happen. I always say the broken will be beautiful. Your story matters and there is someone out in this world that needs YOU. Don’t be afraid to run boldly after your passions and purpose.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m huge on supporting black-owned businesses so I would for sure take my friends to visit the Daquiri Shoppe, Daq’s Daiquiris & More, Pangea, Cookie Society, and The Island Spot. If you didn’t notice these are all food and drink locations because I am a big foodie.

I also bought a bike last summer that I have only ridden about five times so I would take them to White Rock Lakes so I have an excuse to ride and also see some nice views. We would definitely have to go to Six Flags! I may be biased but Six Flags over Texas is the BEST Six Flags Park.

We would have to end the week with a nice weekend boozy brunch at a place like STIRR.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to start by thanking God. I know that’s how all the artist start their acceptance speeches when they accept an award, but I genuinely mean it. Without him, nothing else matters.

I have to shout out two really important people in my life. My first shoutout goes to my husband Gerry! He has had a front-row seat to my journey. He has seen all the late nights and early mornings. He has been there to pick me up off the floor when I was ready to quit. Each and every time, he reminds me of the great calling that I have on my life and why I do what I do every single day. He listens to all of my crazy ideas and challenges me when he thinks I can do better. He likes to be behind the scenes, so you won’t see much of him but you can guarantee if there is something that I have produced he is equally as responsible.

The second shoutout goes to my mentor, Andrae Jones. He helped me realize that my purpose is not about me, it’s about who I am here to serve.

The lessons he taught me prepared me to be a good spouse, leader, businesswoman, and friend. So many aspects of my life became better because I had someone teaching me the right things to do.

I learned if you want to be better, you need to surround yourself with people who are the best and are capable of showing you the right way to go. Now I get to pour into other women the same he poured into me.

Both Gerry and Andrae will also check me if I need it. I think everyone needs at least one person like that but they haven’t checked me lately so I must be doing something right.
